How long do comments take to appear?

Just published my first story, and a couple of people in the chat rooms said they'd commented on it, but unfortunately no Comments are currently showing under my story. Do they take time to be updated/reviewed or what? I can see the ratings for it no problem.

Two neighbours (MF, both mid 40's) are forced to "perform" for the benefit of a masked intruder...
There's coertion from the intruder, obviously, but the relationship between the neighbours is very caring and loving.

It depends on the commenter. Anonymous comments and those from users who comment only very rarely need to be moderated first. That can take a day or two depending on the volume of comments on the site.

Trusted users' comments go up immediately. I've no idea what the threshhold for that is: for me it was around my 200th comment, by which point I'd been a member for 6 months.

In my experience it can take a few hours for them to show up in my notifications, and a few hours more for them to appear on the story itself.
