You, on the other hand, seem to be fully invested in the collective output of a group of grant whores that have not made one correct prediction in the past 16 years. Not a single one of their prognostications have come to fruition.

there are people in this thread not willing to admit that it HAS cooled down...they look at the spike in a datapoint and pick and choose to fit what they think the see.

I don't know if "97% the of scientists" agree it IS cooler lately, and of course none of them agree with each as to why...but cool it has.

There are people that believe there is currently less ice when there is more. Dumb stuff. And they call anyone that doesn't believe the sky is falling a "denier."

I guess if their hero actually believes the thoroughly debunked 97% mantra, they will believe anything.

He still believes women make 77 cents on the dollar. Maybe that's why he thinks it is OK that HE pays his female employees less.

It is a cult. A cult of the stupid.

I seem to remember a paper...from the 97%, that had the CO2 levels rising once the climate started to cool. It would get hot, then start to cool and the CO2 levels would rise. The data was obtained from ice cores from both poles.

Actually that's true and part of the historic climate record. CO2 appears to be a lagging indicator. As temperatures rise, so does the CO2 concentration somewhat behind the temperature. When the temperatures fall, CO2 continues to rise for some period of time and then begins to fall along with the temperature. The scientific term for that sort of behavior is hysteresis.

The problem for the cultists is in that CO2 lagging temperature change removes CO2 as the causative agent.

That's a nice qualifier, "lately".

Looking at the general upward trend in global average air temperatures tells quite a different tale than "lately" especially if you start looking at ocean temperatures.

Cool it hasn't. It has leveled off a bit.

When you are unwilling to call the steep upward spike in temps a warming trend, you have no foot to claim that the brief halt in that trend can be called "cooling".
