It came to me as my boyfriend was spanking me with a piece of bamboo... i liked the sharp pains... but after a while of hitting the same area the pain became a dull blunt pain.... I realized i didn't like blunt pain. I had always shied away from paddles in preference for a crop or snappy / pokey type thing....

I much prefer sting, but thud is also a good tool to push different psychological buttons. It feels more challenging. Sting will take me down alot quicker and make me want more.

Pain that changes and mutates feels better to me than pain that does not - numb pain which may escalate but doesn't really change in scope of sensation can be unpleasant, even irritating after awhile at times. But again, more challenging in a sense.

I tend to prefer heat to chill.

Mixing sensations - light combined with intense, not knowing which it will be and when - keeps me very focused and stokes my need.

I like thud, slap, punch, sting that escalates in a way I can predict. For that matter, I like pain I can second guess, surprises piss me off. Loss of control is one thing, chaotic jags of pain feel like having my face rubbed in it, and that's a dealbreaker.

Ice is another dealbreaker, instant scene ender is to put something cold on or near me. I'll lick boots, I'll clean your car, but put ice on me and I shall have to kill you, sorry, nothing to be done about it.

As for what I like to inflict, well, anything I can live with the next day is great. I like making marks, I like inducing squeals of pleasure, screams of displeasure, wincing, flinching, groveling, and a whole gamut of things.

I've always been partial to a soft leather stap, visually appealing, easy to aim, reportedly stings like the dickens, but it fades pretty quickly. I also like simple paddles, but if you use them to much you're likely to get tennis elbow.

Yes space is a problem....we find the 7 foot stockwhip out of the question here, and the bullwhip takes planning and patience to make some sort of space, and of course the stereo bought for this purpose, turned up just enough. LOL. We have found selectively private forest settings to let go with the whiplash, which finds me concerned about damage to the trees!!

As to the feel....we are working our way up in amount of force behind the lash which is also limited by the space factor. So far it is exquisite with a growing sting which then evolves to a feeling it has cut the skin (and at times does slightly), then comes the feeling you are being licked by fire, wrapped in it's burning fingers.

And yes, the one who wields is to be only someone you completely trust and know they have a lid on their ego that ensures self control. Let us know if you experiment how you find it.

I prefer thuddy floggers, which is why I usually get stingy! I detest rubbereised paddles (like ping pong paddles, with that rubber mat thingy on them) but the leather paddles (like the slapper.. OOOOoooohhhh......) make me happy. Other forms of pain, I didn't like the buzzy pain of the tens unit and the needles intrigued me, I want to try them again. As far as what makes D happy, basically, I've accepted that if I want thuddy, I have to have some stingy to with it!
