How do these numbers affect us?

Nahhh, you really can't reverse it back to me, hon.

It's kind of funny to watch you try.

*Pats you on your pointed head*

You're so messed up
.

~~~
No need to reverse anything, I even offered a sympathy for your travails, it is you throwing personal attacks, not me.
Rather too late in life for you to change, eh?
oh, well...
Hahahahahahaha! You posted this shit up like it was going to prove something. Then it turns out to be complete and utter BS. Next someone asks you point blank about the validity of the article you posted, and... Crickets. You haul ass. Come back and take your fanny whipping coupled with mocking laughter.
There were so many people at my job spouting off stuff that had been proven wrong on Snopes during the 2008 campaign. Obama did this, Obama does that. I would sit back and listen to these fools get all riled up over it then bust their bubble. They'd look at me like I was a four headed monster and be totally pissed that I rained on their shit on Obama parade. Later on, I'd see the same assholes repeating the same story to someone new. That campaign showed me some people's true colors who I'd have never suspected as being ignorant jerks willing to spread lies so long as it helped their cause.
The best would be company wide emails sent out about being patriotic and why supporting Obama was unpatriotic. Come on, you're gonna use the company list serve to send out this bullshit? I thought this list was for work purposes only. Imagine the outrage had an email gone out supporting Obama. Anyway, one quick hop on Snopes.com and the whole email turns out to be bullshit. So then I get to send a RE: with a link to the Snopes.com article calling the email bullshit and the original sender gets to look like an ass infront of the whole company. LOVELY! Of course I had to be polite because it was the company list serve. I really wanted to say, "you ignorant fucking dickhead, take your fake patriotism and shove it."
These reactionary news services (and these reactionary posters of fake political crap here on an erotica discussion board) have got to know that they are being sleazy. I wonder who these folks think they are fooling--or impressing (other than each other). :rolleyes:
I like to try to remain objective about assessing what is going on--and it certainly brings contradictions into my beliefs, as I can't knee jerk just follow one neat line on all issues. But, boy the sleazy way the reactionary press and the reactionary posters here operate makes it really, really easy for me both to see through their fear-based lying and to decide how to vote. (For instance, I sort of liked McCain for president. He sure helped me decide what to do by taking Palin on his ticket.)
"Fear based lying" are the best words for it. Stories like the original post take on a life of their own, but in the beginning someone had to sit down and write the original. Why create a fictitious pedigree that reads like a doctored resume?
It cites a real author, but a non-existing book, then a real professor, but false research. The author is dead, but the professor is still with us and able to disavow the article.
Liars may be unprincipled bastards, but they live by one principle. The lie they spread is something they would find plausible. This is good for the rest of us, because the only people who believe them are those as gullible as themselves.
SR71PLT likes to pretend the electoral college doesnt matter but it do.
The electoral college was created so that ACORN couldnt change an election with BS imaginary voters. If ACORN finds an extra million voters on election day, all the state gets is its legal electoral votes.
But you know this.
Here is the disturbing trend that you need to worry about. In the 2008 election, Democratic voting in the most educated counties in the country increased over voting in 2004. Republican voting increased in the poorest educated counties. What does that tell you about the state of the Republican party?
Did you just make that up?
Sorry, but after the OP, I have suddenly turned cynical.
That's an interesting map. It shows that in Louisiana, the parishes (what we call counties) which voted for Obama were the urban centers and the poorest most poverty stricken rural ones.
There are always outliers in any trend analysis. But as anyone can clearly see, the only parts of the country that are trending Republican are Appalachia and tbe rural South. These are hardly the ares where one would want to establish a power base.
Today Prime Minister Gordon Brown announced the date of the General Election. We have a whole four weeks of campaigning to survive. Compare that with a US Presidential Election.
It is possible that the Labour Party will win the most seats with fewer votes than the Conservative Party. They did that last time. That is partly because the Labour Government refused to alter electoral boundaries to reflect changes in population. Inner cities, where the Labour vote is traditionally stronger, have seen reductions in population for the electoral boundaries. Suburbs and semi-rural areas, where the Conservative vote is stronger, have increased in population.
The Liberal Democrats, our third party, gets far fewer seats than its popular vote would suggest.
It is quite possible that Labour will be in a minority in England, and govern because of seats they have won in Scotland and Wales, which have devolved parliaments. Why should Scottish and Welsh MPs decide what laws are to be passed covering England?
The UK's electoral system needs an overhaul. It won't happen unless there is a hung parliament with neither Labour nor Conservative having enough seats to govern on their own. The Liberal Democrats have said for years that they want reform of the voting systems as part of the price for being part of a coalition.
The election will be interesting as well because so many MPs are retiring. Whoever wins we will have more new faces than at any time since 1945.
Mea Culpa
Is the article you quoted in your opening post accurate or is the article on Snopes incorrect?
Since the original dates to long before Obama was a candidate, it seems someone has altered the text and substituted Bush and Gore with McCain and Obama.
Is this true?
Truthfully I wasn't as diligent as I should have been, I received this from a friend in Washington DC who is bi-partisan (?). Her husband is a Dem Party Staffer and I stripped it down from having been a real pro Repub screed to just the statistics.
I had assumed I could trust her ... maybe not huh. I won't be using either Snopes or the challenges when I do the research. I don't trust either one now.
Loring
You can trust snopes. Snopes, after all, is the site that debunked your post.
But way to pass the buck on this, hmm?
It wasn't your fuck-up, it was a democratic friend?
That's a tad weak.
Wait a second, Loring. You post a full of crap article, Snopes identifies that article as full of crap, and now you don't trust Snopes? You say, "I don't trust either one now." Does that "now" mean that you changed your opnion on Snopes? Did you trust them before, but now that they have proven an artilce wrong, you don't trust them anymore? If anything, the debunking of said article should increase your trust in Snopes. Correct me if my logic is wrong on this.
A tad? You're being generous, I think. After all, it took him all day to dream up that ridiculous excuse. :D
Mea culpa
WTF, Dude? I googled "Hamline Joseph Olson" and the Snopes.com link was one of the first few listed. No lie. Try it yourself.
Don't post stuff that has been widely debunked as bullshit, and then freak out when you get called on it. It makes you look unhinged, and stupid besides.
I've seen plenty of psychiatrists, and psychologists too. I'm confident with my ability to understand reality - I recognized your OP as fishy-sounding, for example. A simple google search confirmed my suspicions, and I posted the results for anyone to see for themselves. Really simple.
Sorry to burst your bubble.
Not really. :cool:
... but quit being a damn jerk ... you're better then that but if you don't mind would would read my post ro 'BRONZEAGE'. It applies to you as well. If its a scam then I apologize not for having been taken but for passing it on.
I've served under a few Presidents "Huck", most were good but not all.
President Obama is the first one I can recall who is openly and obviously disengenuous when it suits him and much too arrogant to serve. He seems to fashion himself as a Ruler instead.
He is not a better man than you or I ... remember that Huck.
Loring
That has fuck-all to do with YOU attempting to pass on bullshit as truth.
Arrogant? Check out the mirror, baby.
What you're actually saying is that you are out of your depth with political discussion. You just want to be a sore loser. No problem; this isn't a political site. Just stop posting the sleaze-bag and irrelvant crap here. That's easy enough.
What we do know is that the poster named Loring 2 here is "openly and obviously disengenuous when it suits him." :D
He's doing what he said he would do during his campaign for President. How is that disingenous?
and much too arrogant to serve.
Oh I get it. He's an "uppity ni##er" and needs to "know his place." How dare he hold his chin so high while giving a speech. Which is it, is he too arrogant or is he too humble for bowing and apologizing.
He seems to fashion himself as a Ruler instead.
If by ruler you mean democratically elected President, then yes. You sound like a sore loser. Point out specifics where he acts like a Ruler rather than the leader, President, and Commander in Chief of the United States of America.
He is not a better man than you or I ... remember that Huck.
Loring
Since when has he claimed to be better than other people? The right set George Bush Jr. up as a God appointed leader. They threw all kind of divine right talk his way yet the right now claims that we look at Obama as the Savior. How easily they forget the spiritual and religious significance they placed on Bush. They wish to forget the past, and forget it fast.
Gee, that sucks dongers, Loring. Seems like your fairweather friends set you up as the patsy for a colossal joke. They made you the fool. The fall-guy. The jester. Don't you hate it when friends take advantage of your intelligence like this? I don't think you need people like that in your life, if you ast me.
By the way, are you interested in buying a bridge? I have this really neat one in Brooklyn that I can show you...
Look, I'm not the one being a "damn jerk" here. You posted a tired, old Right wing piece of agitprop. If you look at the google search I mentioned, you'd see that Rush Limbaugh also first got taken in by it, then said his staff forced him to read it against his best instincts. He reacted the same way you're reacting, by blaming the people who passed it along to him.
That is being a damn jerk.
And intoning wise-sounding words that I should "remember" - again, WTF? Are you saying you're afraid that I'll be taken in by Obama? Why? You think he's got some bad juju or something? He do that voodoo? :confused:
I suppose I should appreciate your concern about my gullibility, but I honestly think it's just the mental gymnastics you're performing to try and mask your own. :kiss:
