How Do Polls Work?

I have an idea but I need answers about polls first:

• Can I edit my poll after I have initially created it?
• Can I add options to my poll as time goes forward?
• Can writers vote more than once for one particular poll?

Here's my idea and why I ask these questions:

• I want to create a thread in which writers offer suggestions of what they would do to change society.
• Then, as good suggestions are given, I want to go back to my introductory post and add links to those suggestions.
• Then, I want to list the best ones in a poll at the top of the thread.

I have no idea whether this is something that can be done. I would appreciate any help.

1. no. once created, poll options cannot be edited.
2. no, see above.
3. once someone has voted in a poll, the vote cannot be changed.

the foregoing means that no, the implementation you are envisioning cannot be used. i would therefore suggest instead simply monitoring the ensuing discussion and editing the first post accordingly.
