Change the color AND the size of the text at the same time?

I can do this.

And I can do this.

But I can not figure out how to do both at the same time.

I know you're all shaking your head at my ineptness, but can someone stop snickering long enough to help me?

Not ineptness in the slightest. Try using the old "cut and paste" feature of your computer. That is, first you can use the icons to change the color ... Like this . Then you can use the icons to change size, bold, italics, whatever, ... like this.

Now notice that before you "submit reply" or "post", you see the codes in brackets [ ]. You can use the copy and past to put an {I} (imagine { = [, cause if I use [ it won't show on the screen for you) and a {/I} after your original {COLOR=red} and just before your {/COLOR} to get Like this.

It reads more confusing than it is ... just follow the instructions I have and remember to use [ instead of {.

Good luck.

Don't feel at all inept, for I too am going through this.

Not, however, without the help of a friend. Sounds like Silver Tongue Devil is your friend. Nice.

Basically bobsgirl there isn't a short cut to picking two formats at the same time with the buttons at the top of our reply. Not you...just how Lit is set up. slvrtongue is right you need to cut and paste (if you're like me and can't remember the code) and add it manually. So if I take your

I can do this.

then cut and paste the code for the crimson colour in the appropriate place...oops has to be 'color'....you get

I can do this.

The above will work but you will also notice the vB Code has two choices: normal and enhanced.

Normal is more like the cut and paste or the add the features as you wish.

Enchanced mode will let you choose all the features you want but just clicking the feature. Then you type what you'd like and click the 'close all tags or close current tag' and you're all set.

Sometimes you may have to use the 'manual' methods if you want many features on and off through out your post.

A very easy way to deal with this dilemma is to remember the few commands that you want to use often. Enclosing the command code in square brackets like these: []just before the text you wish to format followed by [/] (with the code following the slash) will get you what you want. Therefore, typing this: (without the asterisks inside the brackets) [b*][i *][color=red*]Bold red italic[/b*][/i*][/color*] will get you this: Bold red italic.

Once I learned the few commands that interest me, it became quicker to just type the code rather than play with the vB code insert device.

Bowing is completely unnecessary. Now, some well-positioned kneeling...ooops, wrong thread.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you! I will be playing with this tomorrow when I am not so tired. So if you get a wacky PM from me you'll know why.;)

So is it likely to be wacky?

Actually, it really helped to read your post on the reply form. I is for italic and B is for bold?

Not tonight, Kiss, I have a headache.:D

Why is it always the headache?

Geez, can't a woman have too damned much heartburn for once?

while we're sort of on the subject, is there any way that i can see which threads i've responded in, without subscribing to them? i know on other site's bb's, when i've responded or joined in a thread, there's a little dot inside the envelope all the way to the left, so i know i've gotten in on that thread, but i cant seem to figure it out here or find a setting to show that. what's everyone's trick for that?

I have tried doing a search for my name, and it brings up the threads i've posted in too, but i want to just be able to open the how to page, and see it there. any ideas?
