How do I get the attention of the webmasters?

Wow, Tyro... That was rather uncalled for. I for one will say you don't speak for me with that blanket dismissal.

OK, I admit to a degree of overkill. But TruthandLove has exhibited an amazing degree of determined stupidity that I haven't seen since I retired from the Marines mumblety years ago.

While darkboy is most often wrong and misguided this is one subject on which the boss agrees with him.

None of us like this endless parade of threads on the same subject from complaining newbies but there is absolutely no reason to take out our anger on them. The site simply refuses (for no discernible reason) to fix these problems. MANU spends his days dreaming up potential new and unwanted changes while Rome burns.

Even though darkboy is usually toady extraordinaire on this subject he has consistently agreed with jim. He's even gone so far as to offer his services to fix the FAQ, an offer seemingly ignored by the PALACE.

So please, don't attack the innocent, instead send a message to the QUEEN. Perhaps some day the weight of public opinion will generate some results.

Solved, more or less

Just a quick update to close the loop. I have found workarounds for both issues. I can now send messages to other users through their Contact tab. Good thing I was persistent, instead of showing "acceptance" prematurely.

And, I'm pretty sure I can send messages to webmaster@literotica.com, although I haven't quite nailed that down.

(I never did hear back from Laurel, and I never heard back from Spamarrest even though their website promises to respond to queries within one business day.)

Anyway, thanks to all of you who provided helpful and/or humorous answers, especially Darkniciad. :)

Next time I won't wait 6 years between visits to the forum.

I gather from the cross-talk in this thread among you veterans that lack of responsiveness from the Manu and Laurel is an ongoing problem.

As I understand it (and please be gentle if I don't), Literotica is not a charity those two are providing. It is "free" in the same way that over-the-air TV and most news websites are free: Literotica sells ads. And there's the associated for-pay video site, and there was a spinoff book a few years back if memory serves. It is, in short, a business, not a charity.

It is those of you (and me) who write content for Literotica who are acting charitably. I'm not asking for pay, but its not unreasonable for us to expect that those who are making money from our work at least be responsive when we have a problem with the website.

Lack of staff/time is not an excuse for poor service. If they really can't afford to hire staff, there are hundreds of Literotica writers/editors who would volunteer (as some apparently already have) to help with various tasks.

True, but they're also providing the largest ( by 2-4 times the nearest competitors ) audience for erotica on the internet as well. ( Stats via Alexa )

Built on the backs of our work - yes. But in an age where any Tom, Dick, or Harriet can self-publish, it's not as if we don't have options. When you're writing for free, the reason is typically eyes on your work. Lit provides that better than anyone else despite competition with more bells and whistles for authors and vastly quicker publishing times.

If you look, the ads are the same ones that have been running for years. Plus, huge swaths of the internet are running ad-blockers that erase them and the revenue they generate. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say that the ads take care of keeping the place running and maybe a provide a little gravy, but I doubt Laurel is rolling in gold coins like Scrooge McDuck. :p

Doesn't mean that there are some things

*cough* useless contact links

*cough* horribly outdated, incomplete, and sometimes completely inaccurate FAQ

*cough* editing process that's confusing and far more complicated than necessary

*cough* Front page straight out of the 90s *cough*

that should be fixed, but...

*shrug*

I'm getting what I'm after out of Lit. They're putting eyes on my words -- and a damn lot of them. When I balance that on the scales, I find it hard to argue that they owe me anything.

Sorry, but I just see the chip-on-shoulder, you owe me attitude continuing.

I probably wouldn't respond to e-mails written in this attitude either.
