How do I get an avatar?

For some reason, I thought I would be able to upload an avatar once I'd reached 100 posts. I think I read that somewhere...

I've reached that point, but when I try to edit my avatar in the Control Panel, the 'Do not use avatar' selection is the only one I have.

Help?
