How do I Close a Thread?

You typically don't. You just stop posting to it and let it die.

What type of thread is it, and why do you want to "close" it? (What you should do will depend on the answers to those questions.)

Oh. Just let them drop to the bottom of the list and perhaps remove any links out of your sig, then.

If you're really concerned about taking up space, and your pics are attachments (vs. hotlinks from another site), you could go into the Attachments link in your User CP and delete the pics you don't want, but that'll be a hassle if you ever want them back in the thread(s), and it's really not necessary.

If you don't want certain posts, go back and edit them to five periods; be aware that what you said will still show up when others have quoted you, and sometimes in the archives.

In some circumstances, the moderator of the forum in which the thread is located can be asked to lock or remove threads (e.g. when there are too many posts to be edited by the member or the thread is leading to harassment). However, it doesn't seem like this situation calls for any mod intervention at all (it's nice to not add to their workload unless it's absolutely necessary). Besides, if I recall correctly, even mod-deleted threads aren't really deleted, they're just moved to a hidden forum, so having them removed won't save any server space.
