How dirty do you like it?

I guess somewhere in the five to seven range?

I want the sex to be explicit and detailed, but I'm fairly vanilla in my tastes and not into more extreme kinks and stuff like that.

To give a proper answer I'd need to know what a 10 out of 10 for dirtiness was and I'm pretty sure I dont want to.

As long as the writer doesn't stuff their "way the story should go" down my throat it doesn't matter. Good writing is good writing regardless of the level "dirtiness"

It depends on how I'm feeling, what category I'm reading, what kinks are involved, etc.

Darlin' Nikki was 'dirty' enough to start a campaign to label music.

You know Tipper Gore seems to be the type of a regular here in Literotica. She's the one who was looking for BDSM stuff, and found it. Just ask Dee Snider.

She's one of us.

One of us.

One of us.

One of us.

If only this was current so I can make an editorial cartoon about it... I guess it still is considering how people are still censoring stuff because it icks them, but the characters are different now...

Tipper and Terry Rakolta were hilarious. The were so opposed to 'dirty' music and TV, they only made the stuff they spoke out against more popular. And that stuff was not even close to the dirty stuff of the era.

A TV sitcom dared to do an episode in a no-tell motel with hidden video cameras!!!! How COULD they?????

It was so 'dirty' FOX refused to air in on broadcast TV and it wasn't seen until cable came out big several years later. Funny thing is that it was one of the funniest episode of the series. Probably didn't help that the episode before it had Devin Devasquez pop her top in a lingerie store where the old man security guard was in stockings and heels.

Meanwhile, on daytime soaps ....

I see scales like this and my brain automatically goes: Can I see an example of a 1, and a 10, and maybe a 5, just so I can see what you mean? Because imma be honest, I have NO IDEA if what I've read falls on either of the extremes or what.

Interesting question. As a reader, I'm here for a reason. I want sex in the story I'm reading. I want it descriptive, hot, and willing to go for it.

I don't really know what's considered "kinky" today. There was a time anal was kinky. Now, not so sure. I'd think pegging is still kinky, but what about some more minor F-M anal play, like light rimming?

As a writer, I think I'm cognizant of there being limits for some people. Maybe I'll put a toe over that line, but not so much that they're clicking out.

How do you like your erotic stories? On a scale of 1-10, where 1 is light and "clean," and 10 is as raunchy and dirty as it gets, where do your erotic story tastes lie? Do you have clear limits on how far you'll go in one direction or another, either as a reader or an author?

On a scale of 1-10, I'd say my tastes range from around 3-9. I generally like it at least a little kinky and dirty, but I can enjoy a lighter, more romantic, less sexual erotic story if it's well done. I can enjoy it very dirty, too, but sometimes balk when it gets so crazy I feel like I'm not reading about plausible human beings.
Simon, I like it dirty and nasty and 10 or damn close. Some things i don't want to read about (shit and piss) but that's not a function of intensity. As for "plausible humans", i think thst's a function of writing quality.

But that's just me, i could be wrong.

Yes to separating whether "dirty" is what's meant, versus "kinky."

A writer can write a perfectly vanilla interaction with filthy words and extreme prurience. Shockingly out-there kinks can be written with very subtle (or purple, but work-safe) euphemisms.

10 out of 10 dirtiness, no question. My ADHD brain needs it.

I like it dirty and I want the dirty details. But I also want it plausible and balanced with the rest of the story, to make the filth erotic.

IME there's many great stories where I care about the characters and I'm cheering them on, but then the sex part is glossed over. Mention of how glad they are to be doing it but not much detail of what they're doing and why and how it feels, some 'you mean so much to me' but not what it means to do this, that and the other to the other person. Particularly in LS. In Romance, that's kinda the point, so fair enough.

EC and GS and GM often go the other way, with shopping lists of who did what to whom, but not why or how they feel or respond. I'm left feeling I've read a clinical case study, not aroused.

Fanfic writers are often more to my taste with the filth, partly because the character is there already and just needs a little stirring and just add dirt.

Perfectly said! To make the filth more erotic

@SimonDoom,
Boy, that's a loaded question in a game of Russian Roulette if I ever heard one!

Let's see, for me it really does depend on the type of story it is... hard to explain but let's say, for example, I was reading a Mother/Daughter incest story - I would, personally like to see an 8-10, if I was reading a sci-fi story I would prefer to see a 4-5, if I was reading a murder mystery I would like it to be 2-4. If I was reading an erotic horror then 5-7.

It really does depend on what I am reading and my reading, when I do it, ranges over pretty much a wide range of the stories here, as much as for the content as for the ideas that come out of them. I guess I'm an analytical reader then rather than a reactionary one.
Deepest respects,
D.

I clean my hands after touching things.

Apart from an occasional desire for mint or granadilla, I'm pretty vanilla in terms of my desires.

I like to be able to imagine what’s happening. Imagine the setting, the people. I want to see what they’re seeing and feel what they’re feeling.
If the build up is good then sure I want the details. If the author has taken me right to the bedroom I wanna be able to go the rest of the way. I want the positions, the emotions, the sounds. I want to almost be able to smell it.
I love situations where people are polite & well-mannered to begin with - then swearing like dockers as the passion takes over.

But then that’s how I try and write
