How did this story get published?

There is nothing wrong with it if it does actually break the rules, but Laurel has time and time and time again shown that stories don't get policed by whether or not they break the rules but whether or not anyone complains. So if the story doesn't break the rule, your scenario is 100% censorship crime (and 100% bullshit).
There have many reports over the years of stories being reported, taken down, been reviewed, then republished.

Similarly, there have been many examples of stories coming down and staying down, which means either it's a transgression, or the author has chosen not to do anything about it.

So, time and time again, Laurel does do something about policing her site. For example, just the other day, a plagiarist's story was removed after the original author reported it.

It's what the site has always done. Can't see why it's a case for hysteria.

I've never said otherwise. What I maintain is that she does not police on the grounds of broken rules, only on the grounds of optics (complaints). You have not addressed that point. Until you do you have no argument to stand on.

Actually, if a story offends somebody... They are offended, and it is their right to feel...

Cagivagurl

It's also your choice. It is you choosing to be offended. Why should the story get punished for your choice that the writer has no control over?

If everything that offends you gets taken down because you don't like it, then you are the queen of the world. What makes you so special? (I know why, I just what to hear it from righteous judgemental you)

LOL...
If a reader complains because they are offended....
Explain why that is wrong???
It is the correct avenue...
Complain, then it is up to the moderator / site owner, to then decide if the material is indeed offensive and slipped through the net, or not...
All the readers complaint has done is raise a valid concern... If they are offended, it is their right...
That's how adults do things...
Raise an issue, and leave it to the people in charge...

Actually, you do not choose to be offended. Either you are or you aren't.
The choice comes in your method of reacting....
In my opinion of course...

I never said that it was right or wrong. You're the one claiming right or wrong. You are also trying to ridicule my stance with your 'LOL'.

My point is that on this site we cannot trust the admin to decide that, as the admin has a long history of approving/banning stories with nothing to do with the rules.

That's how adults do things...

No, that's how children and brats and snobs do things.

Actually, you do not choose to be offended. Either you are or you aren't.

That is not true. Being offended is a choice 100%. You just haven't learned that yet. I've explained why to you a few times before and you never listen so I will save myself the effort of repeating myself since you are not interested in facts/truth, just your own righteous little world. You can have your little world to yourself but don't force it on the rest of us because we don't need you as queen of right and wrong. And don't say, "just my opinion" like you always do because it's clear in this thread that you are all high and mighty or you wouldn't have tried to laugh me down. That's your MO: lay down the law and pass all judgement, then step back and say "just my opinion". It's bullshit - just a way to spout your righteousness and then run out the backdoor without having to answer for it. An opinion leaves room for other opinions. Your opinions don't. It's childish and if you wish to grow up, that choice is also yours.

Righteous are they....
You do not choose to be offended....
It is merely a reaction.... Something disgusts or offends you. Excites and arouses, or leaves you feeling indifferent... It's an emotive reaction.... To a learned situation.
Before calling somebody else names...
Have a look in the mirror....
I said I hadn't read the above mentioned story.
All I did was support the readers rights to be offended if that is the way they feel.

EC, New today, Kenzie.

How?

I wish I had seen this earlier. It seems the story was removed. As for how it got through in the first place: since Laurel is only one person, and there are a huge amount of new stories posted on this site, I'm sure she has to skim. Probably searches for keywords and phrases, stuff like that. It was probably just human error if the story really was breaking the rules. I imagine she's often up until all hours, approving or rejecting stories.

You absolutely do choose to be offended. Something that turns you on turns you on, that's a natural reaction, and if you choose to be cool with it or ashamed of it that is your choice. If something irks you that is a natural reaction sure, but if you are offended by that irk then that is your choice. You need to learn to separate that.

I never called you names.

I said I hadn't read the above mentioned story.

Neither have I, but that's completely irrelevant. We are not talking about just this story. We are talking about reporting/banning stories in general. Again, you missed the point, knowing you probably on purpose.

All I did was support the readers rights to be offended if that is the way they feel.

No, you supported more than that. You also supported them lobbying to ban a story just because it irked them, regardless if it broke rules or not. That's a shitty thing to do if you ask me.

I only caught this one while scanning EC due to the sub-header. 18-19 is fine. Played down to below that isn't. This isn't even DDlg as far as I can see when an adult acts as if they need support. This is the character making the effort to look younger and profit from it.

Age play has limits.
For those who didn't read it: the story described the female character as dressing up for little girl roleplay, but then also described her as having a simple and childlike mind. Not pretending. Actually being that way.

I for one am glad it's gone.

I skimmed it a bit; didn't go far enough to see that. I guess whoever posted it might have rewritten the beginning to 'reset' the scene to a petite young woman engaging in roleplay, but didn't remember (or didn't bother) to rewrite the whole thing to be consistent. A reminder to be thorough when polishing turds! 😇

There's a big difference between irked and offended....
Irked... Mildly irritated... Annoyed...
Offended... Insulted... Disgusted... Irate...
And no, you don't choose any of those. They are responses to something that rouses those emotions...
I absolutely support anybody's right to complain about something that offends them... Irked, everybody learns to live through those, but offended... No, you do something about those...
It's not my place to police the site... That is the role of the owners. Is there a method to help them??? Yeah, report the dodgy stuff, and let them make up their minds about whether it should be deleted...

Their call, not mine or yours...

Yes you do choose. What you are doing right now is letting others choose for you, which is also your choice.

This whole statement contradicts itself. You say that it's not your business to police but then say that you will report stuff. Well, that is policing. That is taking a policing role.

You don't get it at all and you are coming off very foolish here, sorry to say.

Here are your own words in black and white. (I edited the post to format the quotes properly)

How about this instead: continue to be who you are (starting arguments, calling people names, and getting threads shut down.). But, how ‘bout you quit claiming you don’t start arguments and don’t call names?

If story offends you, it's you, not the story. The story is just a story. Get over it.

Yes, I am choosing to answer your comment... I'm not offended, irked perhaps, so yes. I chose to respond... You see... IRKED, it's an emotion... Mild anger, so I responded appropriately... Had I been offended, my response may have been quite different...
I chose to laugh rather than cry...

Reporting something you think is offensive, is just that (REPORTING) The policing comes afterwards...

Lets assume you see somebody breaking into your neighbours house... Do you report it? Then let the police take action....

As for myself. The only things I report are plagiarism And if I see a nasty personal attack in comments.... So I am quite comfortable in my actions...
