How long does it generally take to get a story approved and published?

Approval can take anywhere from half an hour to a month or more. Visit the Authors' Hangout for some threads on the topic, although the short version is that there seems to be a glitch at the moment that's causing a larger number of stories than normal to slip between the cracks.

Once the story has been approved, it's generally published the next day. I'm in mainland Europe, and it's at 8am here (with another half hour or so for the New Stories lists to update). Sometimes Laurel will push it back an extra day or so, if the category would otherwise be swamped.

Thanks. Just submitted my first story a couple of days ago and keep getting a 404 ERROR when I check on it. Not sure of the subject matter parameters on here, although from what I've read, it should be okay.

Always hard to gauge things on the first attempt.
