How can Gusty have 11 THOUSAND posts if it's only been here 5 months?

Man, and I was just starting to smork. All the cool kids are doing it, you know.

Translation buddy sez: Draaah's even hotter since she stopped smorking!

That's a lot of farting.

She's putting me to shame. After being here five months, I was still around a measly 1,000 posts.

I think she's a character.

And I too could have 11,000 posts if I had nothing to say and said it constantly.

Apparently, I quite writing papkers when I quit smorking.
Y'know...we once had a Snork that smorked but we had to get rid of him cause he got too big for his cage, crapped too much on his papkers and had such a trashy mouth it was embarrassing to have friends over

Ok, to answer the question how she got so many posts; by creating heaps of threads herself and posting on them along with posting replies to others. I was amazed myself how many post she had manaed to rack up in such short amount of time and asked her husband Hongluobo. He mentioned that she in the beginning found some thread where people posted just words. Some kind of game on the Playground. I have a feeling she got heaps of posts together by posting one word at a time. That was right when she started posting by herself without Hong typing for her. She is also on Lit a lot of time. I am too, but I just don't post as much. I could if I wanted to.

She IS Chinese and had hardly even used the computer (if I remember correctly) until Hong introduced her to Lit. They posted together for a long time. Hong is AMERICAN but speaks fluent Mandarin and that's how they mainly communicate. Their kids are bilingual. She does understand some English and I believe she speaks it to whatever extent. It's not easy learning a new language, and honestly I find her posts on the GB more confusing than the ones on the Pic board.

She is having a blast on Lit and I think that she sees Lit as a way of meeting new people, making friends, practicing English and to pass her time at home. Oh yeah, that's the same reason I'm here too.

I don't think it's easy to post in another language if you have no formal education in it. Heck, if I tried posting in Thai I'd probably be "sounding" ten times worse... Usually when learning a new language you understand what is said better than how to respond to it. I understand German to intermediate level, but I speak it like a beginner.

For the whole "posting without having anything to say" thing. Hm, during the year here at Lit I believe I have seen plenty of people doing exactly that. The difference is that their English spelling and grammar actually make me able to read it a bit better. Just because I can read what it says doesn't mean they have anything interesting to say all the time though. How many threads here aren't based (and loved) on the fact that people just say whatever pops into their head?
That's probably the reason I don't post too much, I mainly do it when I feel I have "something proper to say". I don't do the "hiya, flirt/kiss/grope/fuck" posts. But that's just me. I think we're all here just to have fun and do/post whatever we want in order to have that fun. People get their kicks in different ways.

For those wondering; no I do not read all of Gusty's posts. They hurt my eyes after a while, but I do not find that they are harder to ignore (if that's your choice) than Hanns, Yayati or Killswitch's posts. I just skimm through posts from these people. I don't have them on ignore, and usually troll's posts make me more annoyed than Gusty's (perhaps because I can actually understand all their antics and insults).

Ok, those are my 2p's worth.
/LP
P.S. I think it's just a language thing. And yes, I've had a Chinese friend who could write decent English but his speech was horrible. He's have short sentences and he'd give away strange "uh uh aaaah!" sounds. In fact, I have heard many Far East Asian's having lots of problems with English.

Okay, that all sounds plausible, except for the "lots of people have nothing to say" thing. Not for 11 thousand posts in five months. That's unreal. That's taking "Practicing English" to mythic levels. That's monumentally arcane. If she's Chinese and having a blast that's as cool as if she were just a kid doing a character and I don't think anyone has a problem with her either way. Gusty's fine.

But it is a lot of wind, and I think I'll keep her on Ignore.

Playing Devil's Advocate for a second...

How do you know that she has a husband, that he's not the one playing a character? You can be anyone you want to be, it is only PM's, after all!

Just a thought.

And my ignore is staying on too!

I like this response.......it takes the 500 or so words I would have used and trims it down to the actual content :)

This is always possible, but having talked with Hongluobo he seems like a kind and slow to anger man that would have no reason to do something as pointless and fruitless as play a silly character for 11,000 posts. Also, both he and Gusty often have their own faces as AV's, which lends a bit more credibility in my opinion.

Hey, I understand playing Devil's Advocate completely! (In fact, I just did it for seven pages over in another thread...)

Why does everyone place so much worth in how many posts someone has. Is this a contest that I am not aware of?

It takes a lot of effort to rack up that many posts in that little time, KS. Gusty averages 75 posts a day. She lives up to her name.

Wow, this thread has been really enlightening.

Now, just a little bit more of the vast Literotica puzzle seems manageable. Let me get back to putting my world in order...

I've never put anyone on Ignore for just having posts that are irritating to look at, but I think I'm going to.

Gusty has been on ignore for me just about since day one. Does she really have that many posts?

I coudn't stand to look at them, so I made them go away. There was another before her, very similar to her. Kinkylove or something like that. Liked mulitple colors and made no sense. She was put on ignore for the same reason. She annoyed me.

I get that there are bunches of you out there who adore this Ignore function. But I could never do it. Think about it in a real world setting... You're at work, or school, or a party, in a group setting, and there's someone in the group you find annoying, or offensive, or whatever, and you don't want to talk to them or listen to anything they say. Do you actually just IGNORE them?!?!

I actually know a girl who used to be a friend of mine who started doing this to me. She just pretends I'm not there. Doesn't matter what I say, whether I address her or someone else, she pretends I'm not there. She'll respond to someone else's response to me, but not to me directly. This is an immature and ridiculous way of handling any hostility she feels towards me, obviously.

Thus, as much as I may not like Gusty's, or Hanns' (sp?), or whoever else's attitude, or posts, or whatever, I could never put them on Ignore.
Plus, my faith in human kind shines on, and I keep hoping, eventually, something intelligent and enlightened will emerge from them somewhere along the way. And I want to be able to see it.

More importantly, how come PB Walker hasn't complained yet about my complaining about something? He needs to set me right. Someone put up the Bat Signal.

Sorry bubba, I was sitting in airports all day. We got a few flakes in DC and the fucking air traffic control system shit it's pants.

As usual, you've come up with a fine and dandy bitch.

This isn't the real world. In the real world, people don't fling licky frog faces and dancing nanas at me.

It's a character alright. Number one, no Asian that I know or have ever met would post like that. Whether they spoke proper english or not. The loss of face would be horrendous.

Number 2..it's too contrived.

I disagree. I've had conversations with Gusty in Cantonese, using English phonetics that would be incomprehensible to anyone who didn't speak good Cantonese.

I think the posting is just for fun, and playing around with the English language really.

Doesn't bother me, anyhow.
