Are you using Twitter? I've got 350 followers, so far, but the only interaction that I get is with other authors and publishing houses. How do you get people to follow?

Thanks!

I once thought about creating a handle for my main character in my New Life series and have him post tweets that would tease an upcoming chapter.

Twitter...your life, your loves, you foibles, all at 144 characters at a time. Blah!

My wife is a life coach and motivational speaker. Every morning she tweets a daily inspiration. I think she has 400 hundred followers, but of course that's because its free. If even half of them signed up for life coaching I could quit my day job.

I met with someone who works in marketing about how to promote my books. She suggested getting a twitter for my female pen name "Laura Lovecraft"

But she wanted me to go so far as to "be" Laura. suggesting I play it up to the point of tweeting "Laying here in my panties, so horny!"

She said I'd get tons of followers, but like, are you kidding?

Its one thing to stick my story under a female name, but all out pretending to be a woman is a little too much.

Besides, who knows if I were to ever catch a break and my writing take off, that's the kind of shit that gets you in dutch with the media.
