I'm not a horror movie fan, so I don't want to write this myself, but maybe someone else has the skills needed to come up with something interesting.

What if a Vampire got caught up in a monster movie? Whether zombies, or just creatures out to eat everyone on a mountain side. What would change if one of the people trying to survive were a vampire? And not one of those wussy Twighlight vampires, but a more badass Anne Rice vampire.

Just a thought that crossed my mind when watching Feast this morning.

Ah the Feast trilogy. Fun times... lots of gore and hot women. Not sure what else I could ask for in a movie...

Anyway I've thought about that sort of stuff before. I've got some ideas. Certainly vampires and zombies are on opposite ends of the spectrum because even if zombies don't eat/care about vampires the two are still at odds. Vampires (in their film incarnation anyway) are generally intelligent enough to realize they need to keep some humans around to prey on. Zombies are just shambling hordes devouring all in their paths...

Creates an interesting idea for a scenario where a vampire/group of vampires offers humans some sort of protection in exchange for harvesting their blood. Or maybe the vampires would just abduct the last few humans for breeding and stocking their larder. I like this alot...

Also, can Vampires drink Zombie blood? Can a Zombie even hurt a Vampire? What about other nasty critters?

And Feast was made into a trilogy? The parts I saw of this one were bad enough. It wasn't at all enjoyable. I was just bored enough to stop at it a few times when flipping, and was completely disinterested after they used Henry as a battering ram.

Also, can Vampires drink Zombie blood?

Depends on the author I suppose. My inclination would be to say no. Whatever "mystical" properties cause vampires to drink blood I'm inclined to think that zombie blood (being already dead) would be useless... Maybe even tainted! Imagine vampires becoming either infected with zombism themselves or just becoming carriers (which would only accelerate the loss of their prey).

Of course this assumes zombies have blood in the first place. Depending on how much pseudo-science you want to give your zombies. Blood starts to clot once you're dead. Zombies are usually portrayed as slowly rotting... which means that some zombies might have blood but it could be clotted up in others.

Can a Zombie even hurt a Vampire?

Sure. I mean vampires might have supernatural strength or healing or whatever so I guess it depends on how vulnerable you'd want to make your vampires. In some myths the ONLY way to kill a vampire is to drive a wooden stake through the heart AND decapitate it with a shovel AND burn the corpse. In others vampires have more vulnerabilities... so you'd probably want to come up with something from the start.

The real question for me is WOULD zombies hurt a vampire. Most portrayals don't include zombies attacking one another. So do corpses no provide any nutrition to zombies? If so would vampire brains provide any nutritional value? Would vampires even register as "alive"?

If vampires aren't targetted by zombies they can go about their business pretty freely. But the humans... well they will be a resource both species are competing for.

What about other nasty critters?

Depends. I'm inclined to extend my earlier comments about vampires to other undead like mummies or ghosts. But what about say werewolves or unique one-of monsters. Thats a more interesting question. And for me it only inspires further plot bunnies.

Hahaha... yeah they made three movies and they may make a fourth if you can believe that. Diane Goldner (the big breasted biker babe) is in all three of them because appearently her husband John Gulager (who is the son of Clu Gulager from Return of the Living Dead) was director. There's also a hot tattooed and topless biker babe and luchadore midgets in them... I kid you not.

The thing is... you can't take the movies too seriously. They are splatterpunk films that mix black comedy with gory attempts to shock you. If you remember all the vomiting goo, monster tittyfucking, and using of Henry as a battering ram in the first one, I can assure you that it only goes DOWNHILL in the second and third one. Some serious squick there.

I'll probably write a review when I get around to it, being that I'm something of a connoisseur of horror films.

yeah... I didn't see the whole thing, won't be seeing the whole ting, and won't be watching the others.

But it is an interesting situation to find a Vampire in, if you want to start mixing up your horror movie plot devices ;)
