I'm under the impression that most of the ladies here on Lit are only interested in cyber...am I wrong?

Yes, you are wrong! You have to remember one thing here... It's scary for us women to "hook up" with you guys... You hear all over the news about women disappearing, never to be heard from again. You never hear that some guy has... I'd like to think that we're just being cautious!
And yes, once... and will again if everything works out right...
I'm really looking forward to it too...!![]()

I was only responding to the query double16in had, and I quote, "I'm under the impression that most of the ladies here on Lit are only interested in cyber...am I wrong? " I was only saying what I did as a suggestion as to why more women don't meet guys from online more often.
Actually I know exactly what you're saying is true, I've been 'cyber-dating' a guy from half-way around the world for the last 6 months and we plan on marrying if and when he ever gets over here.

It's interesting, the intersection of cyberlife and 'real' life. As I mentioned in a different thread, despite all the hype about how fast 'Internet' time is, it often takes a long time to set up a face2face meeting if you're coordinating it on the Web.
So, what seems to be the best forum for finding others who want to meet in person? Sounds like Yahoo and MSN are helpful, as well as AFF (AdultFriendFinder). Of course, they have the advantage of having region-specific search parameters...but are they really better?
My own take, not from personal experience but from hearsay, is that the men tend to advertise their location, and then women who are interested in the men contact them...is this true?

None of the women that I met here on line, and dated, ever answered ads placed by men. All of the ones that used ads placed their own ads and then sorted out the answers that they received. Most of the answers that were received were discarded without an answer because they were from weirdos that were seking only sex, as described in their replies, and not a relationship.
I think the reason that they did not reply to ads placed by men is because of the old double standard that still exists in many peoples minds, and that is that women should not ask guys for dates. Women should sit at home and wait for the guy to call. I don't agree with this, but I know that there are a lot of women that, deep inside, still think this way.
