Holiday Swag thread!

In laws eager to do new things in place of stressful traditions. We're gonna have a stonerish get together with good wine and bad pizza and good dessert. I'm sure there will be lotto tickets in my stocking and I'll give out some hardware store gift certs.

Low key FTW.

My lady friend took me shopping last night. She got me two self-tie bow ties. Formal black satin for formal wear, , multicolor harlequin print for.. clowning around, I guess. It's pretty bright-- But in a butch way :D

AHA!! The mailman just dropped a fat envelope of royalty cheques off in my mailbox! Best present ever.

Yes, Literotica, there really is a Santa Claus. Woo hoo! Looks like I'm going to World Con in August!!!

:D:D

Two of my best "swags" for this year:

The second of those means I may soon be making custom paddles again. :D

Ohhh nice. Both versions.

One of my fanboys took a fiscal poop in my amazon this morning, so I'm racking up those dollars that aren't really dollars lately. I think some sexxxxy snow tires may be in my future.

I got a Christmas miracle, my toilet iPhone is working again! It's still acting a little haunted but it's back from the dead :)

Books by Nate Silver and Michael Grunwald, some Big Bang DVDs, and a Chemex coffeemaker are the highlights.

SW, that's some awesome stuff you got there.

I got a blender, a scented candle, a framed/matted print of a painting by a relative (on my husband's side) and a very nice, serviceable shirt. The really cool thing was having both kiddos home for a little bit... one had to go to work Christmas Day activating iPhone 5's, but it was so nice to have him home.

Got lots of things, but at the moment, I'm happiest about the Jimmy Buffett books. I'm curled up in bed with Tales from Margaritaville right now as we speak.

my fave gift this year...

I got to hang with my grandparents -- at 41 I still am blessed to have all four of them alive and (mostly) well.

I got a unicorn pillow pet. I collect pillow pets. [Because they're so freakishly cute!] . :)

I got a pillow pet too! A rainbow-y colorful one (I think it's a dog?).

I also got Stompeez, and Slushy Magic, clothes, a stuffed bear, and the usual $200 check from my grandparents.

(yes, I may be showing my childish side by naming those gifts, but oh well)

Haynes Manual for the Klingon Bird-Of-Prey.

Sadly, I was probably 60/40 on being excited over the geeky fact that it was a (licensed) faux Haynes manual than I was that it was for the Bird-Of-Prey. I'm only so much of a Star Wars geek.

I got most of my pressies early this year, the best one being an ibanez bass. :)
Under the tree I got chocolates, deodorant and the best bit was a card from my boy with all his scattered thoughts about Christmas in it. It's very cute and awesome.

Mossberg 12 gauge

But anything I got was nothing compared to watching my (almost) two year old open his gifts.

Back from my actual Xmas,
I got two pairs of vintage cufflinks, as well.

And a Hotwheels fantasy car, which can't possibly exist IRL but if it did i would want to drive it.

And four vintage My Little Ponies as a gag gift, and how the fuck did they become vintage so fast? (You can tell vintage from "old" because they have been scrubbed clean and their hair is smooth...)

Jewelry from my husband (thank you, baby!) but my favorite was a sentimental gift in honor of my late grandfather and another one from my sister. I have to admit though that I was jealous of my brother in law who got a Zombie Apocalypse Survival Kit homemade with a wooden stake, a cheerio necklace so he can eat on the run, and a picture of his best friend to "remind him what he's fighting for." That was my favorite gift to watch get opened today! Absolutely hilarious!

Half a couch and a cereal bowl from J (I paid for the other half of the couch myself), PJs from mom, a vase from brother's family, a book from dad, cheese from sister, a blowtorch from J's family and cognac mustard, rowan berry & apple marmelade and bread (all home-made) from a friend.

The most random present was from J's aunt: a Sukiyaki Western Django blu-ray and vodka chocolates.

Oh, SW, I gave chocolate tools to my brother's son! In my box there were a couple of bolts and nuts, a wrench, some screws and a screwdriver.

I got an awesome "under armor" gym bag, a new GI, a blue hoodie and a too awesome to comprehend Punisher beanie! Good year!

We're massively broke, so we decided to wait until we get our financial aide and buy ourselves new pots and pans. My mom is going to get me a new sewing machine, my middle child got me a pretty necklace. Um, my mother and father in law gave us some money for christmas last week, but we used it for gas. lol K got new jeans and some nice coffee. Overall, a good Christmas, though.
