High-speed rail is dead in America. Should we mourn it?

Highly trained and well paid workers who got the job done and done right.

What's not to love?

I love the idea.

Now, let's stop looking at the silver lining and look at the cloud, the looting of the citizenry and the loss of jobs that go hand in hand with yet another government attempt to cover up a fuck-up.

Of course I want it to be a strong band-aid, well-made and sterile, but first, I want to ascertain what caused the wound.

And if I could get well-trained labor cheaper that would be nice; I should get something out of the in-state tuition provided the children of illegals at the local vo-tech from my tax dollar...

;) ;)

... maybe even cheaper steel provided by non-union countries.

Our infrastructure projects can wait. We have to finish the Gardez to Khost Road first. The defense contractors get first dibs on momma's milk.
