Hello,

I'm working on a story and about to write in a character. She is a student, a daughter of a friend of the main protagonist who is a woman twice her age.

This student is an alt girl and I was wondering how such a girl - at a club - would advertise the fact she is sub? Are there any standard symbols or types of behaviour? She's an intelligent young woman, at Cambridge, but sexually submissive and about to be seduced and used by the main character and another woman.

Thank you,
Pxxx

I'm sorry you haven't gotten any answers as of yet.

Speaking from experience, there's no signal or way to cue others that you're submissive. Different subs have different limits and treat their role differently. It's not like someone wears a blue bandanna in their left back pocket of their jeans and that means "Hey, gang, I'm a sub!"

How it does work is this: When I flirt or talk to women, I test their boundaries and listen to what they have to say. It could be subtle, like invading their personal space and seeing how they react. Or, if they're engaging and open to conversation, I would touch them, lightly or gently in a place that's non-offensive, like a forearm or hand. If they respond negatively, I'll apologize and give them their space.

If they respond positively and like it, I'll be more controlling, adding some pressure to my grip to establish a level of control. From there, it just depends on how things move forward.

But there aren't specific advertisements used to show someone's a sub, or at least not that I'm aware of. And I'm wrong 50% of the time so there's that!

If she's at a club, then a collar is a pretty obvious way to do it. She might keep one in her pocket and only put it on once talking to someone she likes, because otherwise a girl of student age will spend the entire night fending off twat 'doms' and going 'I may be submissive but it doesn't mean I'm going to submit to you.'

The above is probably right. If she was wearing a collar or choker she’d get a lot of attention from “doms” it wouldn’t be just the collar, but the whole package you describe. Youthful, new to the scene, collar..

The truth is while she’d definitely catch a lot of attention from a lot of people. I feel like the serious Doms or Domme would stay away because of the inexperience.

I agree that some Doms do not want to break in a new sub because of the emotions involved. But some men live for that kind of thing.

Also, if she is very inexperienced, you can expect her to make mistakes. She might wear the collar but tear it off once she starts getting ugly or weird men attracted to her. Then she might curse herself when she sees an attractive Dom whose attention she wants, but is not wearing the collar.
