Here We Go Again

Started A RED DEATH by Walter Mosley.

Mosley writes like Chester Himes wrote after he got on board the official black agenda, and after he was a popular and critical star. That is, after he became a black hack. Remove the fat and flavor and fun from Chester Himes, and a Mosley health bar is what you got.

That made me think of modern America, and the perfect metaphor popped into my head.

America in 2013 is like the designated mom driver who has 5 seatbelts in her car, 6 kids to pick up from skating, its a cold rainy day, and she makes one of the kids walk the 10 miles back home rather than risk a ticket.

Submitted ONE MAN'S TRASH, ANOTHER MAN'S WIFE for approval.

It spawned more stories to follow: A judge and her law school son cheat on his bride. And something I call MAX & JULIE is a tale of a lesbian couple who want a baby.

Another story on the drawing board is about a young wife who abandons her husband to elope with a carny who maroons her out in West Kansas, her mom who's just released from prison with no place to go, and the husband who won some major pocket change from LOTTO after the wife leaves with the carnival.

Ordered another 784 pages of Raymond Chandler stories. THE LITTLE SISTER by Chandler is excellent so far. Chandler wins the prize for scenery and physical descriptions. Maybe plots, too.

Hatched an idea for a novel. Two young gangsters, one a lawyer, one a pimp, both sociopaths.

Finished writing WHAT A WOMAN REALLY WANTS this morning, anuther Loving Wives contribution. Hubby sits at home watching the baby while the Missus goes after what all women really want.

Its actually a true story, as most of mine are. It beats having to make shit up. The gal in this story wears size 6 pants, which is different from the 14s and 16s I like to write about. I don't do vital stats, I do pant size and top size (small, medium, large, xtra large). Sometimes pantyhose size. If I must refer to tit size I like SAUCER, TEACUP, ROOT BEER MUG or LOAF OF BALOGNA.

Finished reading LITTLE SISTER by Raymond Chandler.

THE BIG SLEEP and FAREWELL MY LOVELY and LADY IN THE LAKE are Chandler's most famous and popular novels, but LITTLE SISTER is his masterpiece, in my opinion. I cant imagine how to best it in its detective category. Its sublime for many reasons: The plot all by itself is as simple and complex as a daisy or a bee's eye. The dialog is as good as anything John O'Hara ever wrote. The scenery sux you in. Marlowe exposes his cynical despair, and hardly touches the bottle (Marlowe is an alcoholic, racist, and homophobic). And the story is as real as our lives.

Chandler does a grand job of explaining how stars, agents, directors, and Hollywood moguls interact IRL.

The story is about Hollywood starz, gangsters, rabid cops, corrupt politicians, jealousy & hate, and the worst kinds of treachery. Its the first time Philip Marlowe cops a feel (a Hollywood Star no less), and gets stabbed in the back with an icepick.

Nothing and no one are what they seem to be.

The thesis: A poor and simple Kansas bumpkin comes to Los Angeles searching for her lost brother. She has 20 bucks to her name, and hires Marlowe to find the brother.

Writing a new tale for the MATURE category.

Former teacher released from prison, with no prospects, takes a job at a brothel located in the country.

Ordered THE LONG GOODBYE and PLAYBACK by Raymond Chandler.

Hatched a story for the LW category.

Mom is a manic-depressive alcoholic, wifey is a cock addict, and Sonny is caught in the middle. Mom uses Sonny to get her booze and bail her outta trouble, Wifey fucks all the boys at her community college and cuts Sonny off. She calls Sonny mama's boy. Then Ma gets in enough hot water she hasta go to extremes to keep Sonny hooked, and that enables him to sprout some balls with wifey.

OK So last night I'm reading an obit for a famous organist, and one of the complaints against him stopped me in my tracks and switched ON a light in my head. I spent last night and today thinking about it, and imagining how to apply the idea to writing, and VOILA! I got it. I will use it to compose a simple story.

The LW lions and tigers and bears are mauling my new story. But I knew they would. And I'm thinking of feeding them some meat they'll choke on. If its bloody enough they may leave others alone.

Theyre certain to hate the one on the drawing board.

Re-reading FIRST BLOOD by David Morrell. Its well written and popular but Sheriff Teasle and Rambo are cartoons. A better drama would match Rambo with a draft exempt, socially connected fop who harasses Rambo's efforts to succor disabled war vets. We have that problem here. The Save the Homeless establishment piles abuse upon a woman who bought a trailer park for homeless men to use. The park is zoned correctly, complies with applicable codes and standards, and is well managed. Plus there's no other place for men to go.

But the gals cant stand it, and twist arms to force the park to go away.

So a year or so ago the gals forced the ladies of the county commission to sue the park owner for something obscure and irrelevant, to ruin the park owner with legal fees. So the woman closed her park. Then the shit hit the fan when there was no place for the cops or detox or the crisis center to shelter destitute males. The park used zero tax dollars, too. But the gals wanted it gone because it attracts the wrong kinda people (and used no tax money to operate).

So it closed and the men moved to the streets and woods, and the social service agencies were stuck with a huge problem. In the end the ladies of the county commission went to the park and embraced the owner and stopped humping her leg.

Hooray! TRAILER PARK WHITE TRASH arrived in the mail!

Read the first chapter. BULLSHIT. Trailer People don't muse and have insights and wonder about God. Theyre entirely appetite motivated and predatory/scavenger.

Chapter 2 is closer to the mark. Grandpa watches his daughters baby while she fucks an older white man in her bedroom. The white man leaves her some cash and rejoins his friends hunting.

The title for my new story is HIS FRIENDS TOLD FRANKIE TO GET A PAIR, SO HE DID.

Read most of TRAILER PARK WHITE TRASH.

Its not REALLY about trailer people, its about rednecks if the rednecks were Mike and Carol Brady. Real trailer people drink beer for breakfast NOT OJ. And they don't fix breakfast, the kids eat at school.

That said, it has plenty of material that's true and ever-lasting. Especially the alcoholic women, promiscuous teens, and jocks-cheerleaders. Brings back lotsa memories. Good reference book for the real 60s.

Got some ideas for a few interracial LW stories.

Started work on BLACK BIRD IN A GILDED CAGE, an interracial LW tale. Black womans husband is paralyzed and her white boss takes a personal interest in her well-being and prosperity. He takes great care of both people.

LW readers love me or hate me, there's no middle. So I'm getting plenty of comments.

You are only the second author that I have come across that can pen such a story. A story were I want everyone killed. The earth beneath their feet burned and salted. Any record of them destroyed.

So Congratulations

They'll love BLACK BIRD. Its a cucks dream come true. And interracial.

Re-read THE BIG SLEEP by Raymond Chandler. Re-reading FIRST BLOOD by David Morrell.

Added 750 words to BLACK BIRD. Writing black vernacular is easier than I imagined.

Finished FIRST BLOOD. Different from the movie. Colonel Trautman blows Rambo's head off after Rambo shoots Sheriff Teasle.

Had some writing epiphanies today. Groan. Now the stories gotta be cut like diamonds and not mixed together and poured into a mold.

Read a few chapters of NIGHT CHILLZ by Dean Koontz.

Koontz sux but Willie Wanker recommended the book, and I gotta fess up that its aint bad.

Koontz is hit or miss for me.

His books Phantoms and Eyes of Darkness were excellent, but a lot of his stuff seems cobbled together as if he made them up on the fly.

One I would recommend though is "Intensity" that one will keep you reading.

But his "Odd Thomas" series is a poor take on Lumley's Necroscope series.

I aint applauding Koontz' writing per se. He packs all the adverbs there are into his books, and some of his words make me scratch my head...like...are the darkest hours before dawn OMINOUS or OMENOUS. He used ominous but either of them works. Like is the night black or dark!

Time to make a book order.

Prolly TROUBLE IS MY BUSINESS by Raymond Chandler
and MOONSHINE WAR by Elmore Leonard.

Submitted 4 stories via my alt. Polished them for 5 years, so I'm kinda okay with how they worked out. I have 2 styles A) Lean Raymond Carver, and B) Lush Ambrose Bierce.

'Bradford Murray rose from his chair and moved to the fireplace that separated the parlor from the dining room. He set the screen aside, rested his hands on the mantle, then kicked the logs with the toe of his boot. The smoldering wood burst into flame with an eruption of orange sparks that flew up the chimney. After a few moments of silence he resumed speaking.'

Changed my book order: TIDEWATER MORNING by William Styron
TROUBLE IS MY BUSINESS by Raymond Chandler

TIDEWATER MORNING includes a wonderful story called SHADRACK. Its a tale of an old slave who walks 600 miles from Alabama to die on the plantation where he was born. The plantation is now owned by a white trash family that spends its time drinking or fucking. The girls use dad's old car for a motel, and it's littered with used condoms.

Anyway, the problem is with the funeral people. Its illegal to bury the old slave in the cemetery where his parents and wife rest. The state says he's gotta go to the official Colored cemetery and buy the lot, funeral, and prep. He aint got a dime, neither does the white trash family. And he dies.

THE LONG GOODBYE and PLAYBACK by Raymond Chandler arrived in the mail.

Submitted a story from my alt account. Got another one to send but it needs some filler added.

THE LONG GOOD-BYE by Raymond Chandler comes 14 years after THE BIG SLEEP. So far its like eating corn flakes after eating TRIX forever. Philip Marlowe is older and lost plenty of his snappy fizz, but just as cynical. The cops are as stupid and brutal as they ever were. And the girls are beautiful and deadly right outta the box. The story: Beautiful slut-heiress is murdered, cops blame her alcoholic-cuck husband.

Some of my readers want me to do something with my trailer trash characters, so I'm sketching a novella I call THE BAYVIEW HOTEL & ARCADE. Its a brothel located on the fringe of the ghetto. And the central conflict involves the gangster who owns the brothel, his city council girl friend, and a corrupt lawyer who's mama is a corrupt judge. Supporting characters are a young lawyer and an old MD who work for the pimp/gangster.

THE LONG GOOD BYE came along when Chandler was 65. It has no snap crackle or pop such as the early Philip Marlowe stories are awash in. Marlowe has changed from Hummingbird with its beak in everything, to predatory snake following scent. The book's faults are few, the worst of them is Chandler makes clues too obvious.

Got a green E on one of my stories. Readers aren't wild about it, tho.
