Mosley writes like Chester Himes wrote after he got on board the official black agenda, and after he was a popular and critical star. That is, after he became a black hack. Remove the fat and flavor and fun from Chester Himes, and a Mosley health bar is what you got.
That made me think of modern America, and the perfect metaphor popped into my head.
America in 2013 is like the designated mom driver who has 5 seatbelts in her car, 6 kids to pick up from skating, its a cold rainy day, and she makes one of the kids walk the 10 miles back home rather than risk a ticket.
