Help with story rejection

I think it’s true that if you have been a good girl for quite a few stories you get less scrutiny. That makes perfect sense.

Isn't it the same with comments?

I don't know if that's still a thing, but I remember a topic on here where people started suspecting that commenters on the story side have been grouped into "safe" and "unsafe". The people deemed safe have their comments visible immediately, while the unsafe people have to wait a few hours for their comments to be "approved". If that's still the case, I wouldn't be surprised if they follow a similar approach with story posting.

Yeah - I’m in the good girl group for comments as well

I'm coming in here as someone who has made such a generic statement, but on the grounds that a lot of AI rejected users have joined the site in the last few months which is one hell of a coincidence if that's what it is, but it does beg the question as to whether newer users are being more heavily scrutinised compared to older users particularly when it comes to AI.

Regarding the messaging Laurel situation, I have been reaching out to Laurel for over a month because I've fighting to have a part of my story published after 5 AI rejections with no response. I've been polite, voiced that I've done everything asked of me, and have yet to receive a response. That's my issue. You got a reply for something minor, I'm here fighting for 38 days to have this part published and I have yet to receive a response that expands beyond being direct to an FAQ I have already read backwards and forwards.

I'm glad your work is being published and that you got a response to fix the issue, but I'm allowed to be frustrated that I'm 38 days into this rejection cycle and it feels like I'm slamming my face into a brick wall (which is about as thrilling as it sounds).
Hey,

I offered to try help. If you are good to go, that’s fine.

I am hardly the one to make any justification for what Laurel does, but I believe this approach, if true, actually makes sense? If an author has been publishing stories here for years, way before AI-generated content was a thing, it makes sense to give them less scrutiny than some new author who just started publishing his stories. It's about building credibility and reputation. To be honest with you, I actually have a problem with Laurel not doing that.
On the other hand, I believe that this little to no communication approach she takes is going to backfire, sooner or later. Some truly competitive website is bound to arise at some point.

I appreciate the offer, but there is no guarantee that even if you could help, that I'm not going to keep getting hit by the AI Rejections every time I try to post something. Only one of the parts I've written went up without any issues - although nothing changed between the writing of that part an the others - so it's more than likely it's going to keep happening no matter what.
No guarantee, as I say, just an offer.

I understand where the need to have these AI detections in place comes from and I get why they are being so cautious. The lack of communication regarding the issue, and being constantly hit by rejection after rejection despite following the rules, and being clear of that face, is the issue here. That, and the general inconsistencies regarding the rejections.
I get that would be difficult. TBH that’s what my first few months here were like. It gets better in time.

Emily

Does it though? I've faced 13 AI rejections across 5 parts of a story with a 14th rejection incoming. My first rejection was in October of last year. It's been 6 months since my first AI Rejection and they've been getting more persistent even though my style hasn't changed
Yeah - I had a nightmare with my first submission, I don’t know how many rejections. But, I had two later stories post while it was in purgatory. It was probably two months after I first submitted it that my #1 story was finally accepted.

I probably had double figure rejections in the first two months. Only two since, and both on technical stuff, not AI.

To clarify, I've never had an AI rejection. Given how I write, that’s not surprising.
