I have tried everything in a few programs...Irfanview, Picture It!, Paint...I've reduced the pic to 250 pixels, then to 150, then to 130...but I still get this message:

The file that you have tried to attach is too big. The maximum size is 30000 bytes.

I can't find how to reduce the bytes! I don't even know how many bytes it is. This has happened to me before and I was told that reducing the color might help. Went to black/white...no deal.

HELP!!!! Please!!!! :) Grrrrrrrr....

Open in irfanview select image > resize/resample resize to 150 x 150 (the biggest side should be 150 if it is not a square) for avatar, (250 x 250 29.3 kb for profile) check preserve aspect ratio.

Select save as >jpeg move the slider on the save quality bar to approx 75 save, then check kb, if still not enough save again and reduce further.

That's the basic stuff, some images can require more fooling around reduce colours, lower DPI etc.

Failing that post it here or in the resize thread in HT proper.

Ok...I did all that except the quality bar thing...and where are the kb's? Also I could not FIND the resize thread...you mean it's NOT in the cafe then, right?

Thank you so much quoll! :)

If you reopen it in irfanview it should be listed in the folder.

Resize thread

Thank you! I got it to work. I think it was reducing to that 75%...I went to 60% tho...:)
