I was on a laptop recently when i noticed that it was running on battery power. I went to plug it in and the plug sparked causing the fan that was also plugged into the same surge protector to turn off. The computer turned off and went to turn it back on, the touchpad mouse would not move.

I already tried using the Fn plus the a function key.

I ended up buying an external mouse. All i can say guys is to watch what kind of surge protector you use. Mine sparked and caused all of this.

I just had to replace the battery in one of my MacBooks.. they suggested that it was because of overcharging..
it was fixed in 10 minutes.
