For what it is worth, the Golden Guide, Spiders and Their Kin, says that wolf spiders make nice pets. Water must be provided to wolf spiders kept in captivity.

Last seen downstairs by the bookcase." Then, add below, "Killer of said spider will receive one very long and lovely night with Selena Kitten, favorite fantasy indulged."
Betcha the AH guys (and a few of the ladies) form up a posse pretty darn quick to save you from Spider-Wolf.![]()

Her name is Cindy 2.0. Cindy 1.0 died about a week after I caught her. 2.0 has been in the cage for about 2 months or so.

A hint a friend of mine gave my wife.
Use Hairspray on the spider. It does kill it and if you use enough it freezes it solid so you can display it to your friends and show them your hunting prowess. (Or you can place it in your ex-s bed to truly get them paranoid.)

This time of year, when the temps drop into the low 50s at night, we always get the wolf spiders coming in from the meadow that backs the house. After about a month or so, they've found their wintering spots and stop darting around your house.
They used to freak me out big time. Now, the cats will chase 'em & eat 'em. However, they don't make my cats as hallucinogenic as the moths do. Whooo-eee! Talk about a doped up pussy!

My SO sat up a whole night at college cos a spider wove a web over his bedstead.
