Hi, I have had seven other stories published over the years and my latest has been stuck in pending for several days. It is part four of a four part series and the other three have been published. Can someone come to my rescue and publish it please?
Thank you!

how many days has it been since submission? I've read it saying that the longer it is the longer it takes. normally it takes 3 to 5 days.

Its what i read in the forum.
Did I mention that I have nearly 1,600 stories here, with lengths going up to novel length--and all posting in two or three days, with no variation seen by length? I don't think there's any correlation between story length and posting delay.

For newer writers it does take longer depending on the length. They take more time when they are longer if you are new because they're making sure u are following the rules. Tenured writers they trust more.

I repeat, I have never seen a correlation between story length and posting time. Please cite evidence. We don't need this sort of disinformation. No matter the length, all of my submissions have posted in two or three days--all of them. Forever. Some of them have run to twenty Lit. pages and more.

I agree with Keith. Cite the evidence.

There's a glitch in the submission queue that causes some submissions to not appear in Laurel's dashboard for some reason. If it's not illustrated or audio ( which only post on certain days ) and has been in the queue for more than 5 days, you've got two real options:

Open the submission, preview, and submit again to reset your position in the queue, which has worked every time from what I know of. It takes another 2-3 days for your story to post, but it does the trick, and doesn't require Laurel to do anything other than what she normally does in a day. I suppose you could be unlucky as hell and fall in the crack twice, but it's not likely.

Contact Laurel by PM and let her know your story is stuck. She can look it up by other means and review it. Her profile can easily be found as the thread starter for most every post in the Contests forum section.

I'm experiencing the exact same thing right now. Has never taken more than 2 or 3 days before. But I now have 6 stories pending and some since March 20th, which is highly unusual. Wondering if there is a glitch or something since it sounds like it's not just mine.

Its been a week since it was submitted and I have 7 others that have been published over the recent years. Usually the publish is in a couple days.

My story is still pending so I resubmitted it. We'll see what happens.

I'm still going through the same thing. I now have 7 stories pending. Wouldn't be a huge issue (although have never had this happen before, my stories have always been published within a couple of days) except many of them are subsequent chapters in a series and I've been getting comments and PMs from readers asking why it takes me so long to write follow up chapters :( I PM'd Laurel a couple of times but no response over the past week. I understand she's probably busy, but I wonder if there is more than one person approving and publishing submissions. I can only imagine how many get submitted each day. Anyhow ... the wait continues.

Have you tried resubmitting? I resubmitted mine this morning and will see what happens.

I was worried that would just push me back down to the bottom or the queue, wouldn't it? Then it may be another week or two. I may be wrong, but isn't that how they are published is in order of submission date? Thanks for the response.

Lately the pending times have been longer, so I think just be patient a little longer.

This seems like it is a recent problem. Maybe somebody is on vacation :)

Could be. Everyone needs a break, I suppose :) Fingers crossed things get caught up soon. Granted I don't have a huge number of submissions, but they've typically only been a couple of days from submission to published. I just wondered if it was just me experiencing this or others were seeing similar wait times.
Thanks for the responses.
