I'm trying to figure out the best way to make a spreader. I read the "Toy Bag" Thread and basically think I have an idea, but was looking for input. I know my Dom would love this little addition to our toy bag. All help is greatly appreciated.

I asked too soon....

My Dom, being the smart guy he is, has already figured it out and succeeded in making one. For any interested in knowing this, He used an old broom stick cut down, eye bolts, and duct tape. He cut the broom stick down to about 3 to 3 1/2 feet. Then taking the eye bolts, screwed them into the ends tightly. Lastly, He used the duct tape to re-enforce the ends to prevent splitting of the wood. Our only cost in this was the eye bolts, costing about $1.00.

I hope this helps anyone else in need of a good spreader. We are looking forward to trying out our newest toy tonight.

That was an impressive invention. Lots cheaper than buying one.

Have fun with your new toy. ;)

If you go to the hardware store, look in the paint department. They have these expandable paint handles, to use for paiting ceilings, high walls, etc. Basically they are foot long lengths that screw together. You can make adjustable spreader bars out of them. They cant bear much weight, but for regular bondage they work great, and are convenient for travel.

A good Walmart or any Home Depot will have a large selection of dowels for less than a dollar. I think they all are 4' long which is a good size. If you want smaller, you can cut them in half. The diameters range from smaller than pencil size all the up to about twice the size of a broomstick. They are sanded smooth, but unfinished. I just leave mine that way. They are more receptive to screws than broomsticks, plus I like mine a little thicker. I also like to put an additional eye screw in the middle. It comes in handy at times. You might as well make two while you are at it.

Thank you, James for your response. We will keep that in mind too.

Thank you WriterDom for your suggestions. I will show these to my Dom. He may wish to make another in the future and knowing this about the dowels will help I'm sure.

New toy used last night

My Dom decided to use our new toy last night after all. It worked wonderfully. :)

This was my first experience with being tied to a spreader and I think I did well. My Dom was pleased. I am pretty sure that this toy will get some use from us. :D
