Hello gorgeous friend! We definitely are overdue. I love that you popped in over here. For me, there hasn't been much new going on. A massive outbreak of looting across the city overnight Sunday. A small tornado on Monday. Increasing Covid cases. End of days, perhaps?

I am hoping the recent influx of the cold weather today is helping you mate.

I have to admit I am a pure sucker for a good old thunder storm, I was hoping that tonights would be proper harbinger of evil type big bangs and bigger sparks but it has all settled down into just a damp drizzle and drechtness. It is so very scottish, not quite enough to be impressive but definitely miserable enough that you would not want to be in it.

How is everyone doing at the start of this week, settling into it or already wondering why it feels so long?

No let up at all here, still over 30 and no lower than 28 at night. Saw one flash of lightening last night but well in the distance to the south. We had 2 minutes of light rain yesterday morning but the ground never got wet, it evaporated instantly.

We've got our usual blistering heat here, in fact one of my kids is currently recovering from actual heat exhaustion, despite the fact he's been inside all day.

Just had my allocated'yard'time here during my quarantine and it hit 40 degrees with 70 odd % humidity, just not funny

NRP ~ You would have enjoyed our weather late Monday afternoon. There was a tornado warning. One actually touched down about four miles from us in a city neighborhood on the lakefront. The wind and rain definitely felt like a harbinger of evil. We hunkered down in our guest bathroom, as it’s in the center of the apartment and has no windows. The power went out a couple of times, but came back on within a few minutes. After about 20 minutes, we got the all clear. Storms continued for a while, but much less intense. Although I do love a thunderstorm, I am happy to skip the tornadoes.

The sort of thing that sounds horrible to be in. As much as the film Twister takes my fancy I am sure the reality of it is not anywhere near as exciting. I am glad you are all ok.

There are some fantastic mental images going on in my head, but as a fellow thin topper I admire your ability to remember to do that as I have regularly been wandering about outside, gotten home and remembered that my head could boil eggs on it.

And now the weekend has arrived, and the job of tidying up the house has started. I hate this job...

I'm settled into my deployment now, hard to leave the OH for six months but regular internet chat is easing the pain somewhat. Just the heat to get used to now.

Hope you're all doing well towards the end of the week, what plans have folks got for their weekends?

Not much going on for me here. Cooked a couple new dishes. Finally catching up on the last season of Stranger Things. I hope that you are acclimating to the heat and that everyone else here is doing well.

In the end not enough to make me decide to go for it, I think also as well I had a slight fear that making something at 2am or so would just end up making me feel worse the next morning. So I was very sensible (well, bar the staying up till 2am bit).
