Petition to NOT ban nude pics from literotica

"Many Literotica readers (and authors) shared with us that they visit the site on their phones and would prefer not to have NSFWs images on the screen while someone else is looking over their shoulder."

If you are dumb enough to look at an erotic site with someone looking over your shoulder, I can't help you. Neither can Literotica by banning nude images. You'll just do the same with some other NSFW website. Don't spoil our fun by complaining about your own inappropriate behavior - idiot.

I find it odd that several of the posters in this thread are among the ones who have committed large numbers of image rules violations resulting in many of their posts (in some cases, hundreds) being removed or edited.

We've been trying to tell you for a very long time to follow the rules regarding explicit images and posting images you don't own the legal rights to. We've repeatedly linked to the long standing site wide image and content rules. We've posted and updated them at the tops of various boards.

We've flat out told you to stop, warned you to stop and cautioned that if it continued, rules would be changed in a way your wouldn't like.

Well, now, here we are.

You really have no one to blame but yourselves.

To be honest, I wouldn't be totally surprised if Admin fully disallowed ALL images.

So, punishing the masses because of the few that won't follow the rules, and apparently no one actually punishes them. Sounds like a great reason to me. Now if the owners just came out and said it's their site and this is how we want to run it, that would be one thing, but you alluding to this being a massive punishment is complete bull.
100% with you on this, making an entire community, regardless of its nature, pay for the sins of others will always be two things and two things only: extremely misguided and unfair, plain and simple, period.

I have voiced my opinion on various threads and would now like to add my weight behind any campaign to prevent the ridiculous ban on nude pics on the Lit threads - and in certain genre of erotic stories.

This is supposed to be an adult website with accompanying adult themes, most of which will be littered with nude pics of both Lit members and other people that have been (hopefully) linked from elsewhere. As we're all supposed to be over 18 to be on the site, that would suggest we're all adults and have at least some idea what to expect when we log in ... to act all surprised about seeing naked people does seem pointless.

If anyone is dumb enough to have the site open on their phone / laptop / tablet in public view, then more fool them when they get people tut-tutting because they've been looking over their shoulder.

Agreed

Please allow the nude photos. What is the point of an adult site if you take out the nudity. We should not be limited on the photos we show because of a few idiots.

I originally visited this site for the stories and soon found they were mostly bad porn. Huge tits, giant cocks, shooting jiz across the room etc.
The pictures on the forums are what kept me here.
Pictures of MEMBERS posted with full permission and authorization of the owners.
If anything should be banned, it’s only the reposting of all the crap from other sites.
Posted illegally and without permission of the owners.
Do not ban nudity.

It's insane to ban nudity and erotic imagery here.

Those foolish enough to be caught browing Literotica's photo threads in a public area should not have the power to restrict the rest of us sensible adults from enjoying erotica here, whether text or imagery.

This is quite silly.

I love going to this site because of the pictures. I love how the women on here are brave enough to show off their bodies.

I love each and every one of you for doing so. It isn’t easy, but you lovely ladies have turned me on more than once.

I love seeing real women. It is more of a turn on than seeing young porn stars (not that I don’t enjoy that too).

It is sad that a site like this will ban pictures. So crazy.

(Sorry about the bold-face type. I can't get rid of it.)

Lit. is concerned about losing their exemption from sec. 2257 requirements. They can't effectively moderate the content, so they've decided to do away with images. I wish they'd partner with a site that could handle images, allowing posters to register with a 3rd party registration service for posters. That's probably all too much trouble for Lit., but the sites that run their ads are familiar with such requirements. It's just easier to do away with images and forget the whole thing.

Getting rid of images won't protect Lit. from 'Project 2025'. They'll come after Literotica. It's just a matter of time. Just sayin'...

"5. Content Creator Registration

"The procedure for users to sign up for a fan site is typically seamless. They click through the user terms, confirm they are over 18, and provide a method of payment. However, content creator registration procedures are more complicated. Any creator who will be uploading adult-oriented material to the site must be verified as an adult to avoid issues with underage content. Depending on the precise business model, additional records may be required by Title 18 U.S.C. § 2257, such as the date of production, stage names, aliases, and URL’s associated with the creator. Some fan sites use third party identity verification services to confirm the authenticity of the name, address, and ID provided by a specific user or creator. Weeding out potential underage users or fraud is essential at this stage, before any content is posted to the site. All creator accounts should be manually reviewed and approved before registration is accepted by the site. Any apparent underage material must be immediately disabled, preserved, and reported to the appropriate authorities in accordance with federal law."

I've always felt that, whilst this is an erotic NSFW site, the nudes that are shared are more artistic than most other spaces.

As someone who's posted several compromising pictures here, posting photos has been part of my sexual journey and photos are as fundamental to the site as audios of people orgasming. It's like saying we'll have to take out audio stories so people can play things out loud in public.

While of course there's an exhibitionist aspect to it, I do think most things posted are in good taste and proportional to the site, it's demographic and it's purpose.
To remove that function will limit the scope of the site, it's content and engagement.

It appears what they're doing now is disabling the display of images, leaving only the links. This is not limited to nude pics.

I agree wholeheartedly. KEEP THE NUDES 😃

Last time I checked, this was an erotica site. I can understand some limitations, but NO nudity seems too far. If people don't want to accidentally have someone see nudes over their shoulder, as the OP that this thread is referencing suggests, then...don't. Just...don't. Don't go to an erotica site while people are watching. If you can't help yourself, pay attention to your surroundings, or turn off images in your browser.
Spot on!
If your afraid of big brother watching don't watch at all.

Personally, I would love nothing more than to read erotic stories on the long bus ride to and from work, but I choose not to, mainly because the first thing that pops up when i log in is a strip of advertising for webcam models. The other reason As several members have commented, this is an 18+ site, and people need to use their brains and determine if they think it is appropriate to open the site when they will possibly be caught looking at it.

This site apart from the roots of publishing erotic stories, allows members to express themselves via sharing images of themselves. For anyone who has ever done this and received positive feedback on their pictures (and all I see is positivity in members replies), you will know it is a thrill. This is quite liberating for the posting members and also generally appreciated by the members viewing the pics.

Yes the net is full of other easily accessible porn sites, but I feel it would detract from the existing site if the ability to share appropriate nudes is removed.
That's why I used the original lit app until it wasn't supported on newer phones (and should be upgraded in my opinion).
I'm using lit reader off git hub its a little quirky but better than no app.
