Holy crap!!!! Those are nightmare inducing

Not just the heel!

In a slight Knight's Move and referring to weekend jollities: I spent Friday & Saturday photographing a wedding and watching someone totter around in heels in a field was (cruelly) amusing. As the field was closely mown, no cow poo many wondered why barefoot wasn't a safer option under the circumstances.

Curious coincidence. I have had a excruciatingly painfull foot for past 6 months, diagnosed on Friday now as Morton's Neuroma, more common in women , usually caused by the wearing of tight high heels. As a child cowpat frisbee was a favourite game. Cowpat may also be worn as a fascinator at posh rural weddings

Ok come on then we’re doing tourist information for a history buff who’s done a bit of the big stuff. Any good recommendations for places to visit off the beaten track?
Any rough interests (not like that!) that your history buff has? I mean I might be fascinated by the London canal museum but not everyone else would be!

Hello there.... he’s not my history buff per se he just messaged me .... maybe because I’m a smart ass with no discernible purpose and he wanted to put my smart assery to good use. From memory he’s done British Museum. Palace of Westminster, Westminster Cathedral, Buck palace - and some food market in Camden. He’s planning on Churchill war rooms and Kensington palace ( no idea why ). Anyway ... could send him to St Paul’s and Borough Market. What else?

Oh yes ..... he’s going to Hampton Court. I think a picnic and a river boat down there would be good but I’ve only ever done that from Kingston - not centrally Obviously you’ve got the big 5 museums but I would love the V&A more than the natural history museum ( but then I wouldn’t have wasted my time at Buck P. )

Does anyone know any friendly Litsters in San Francisco I can hit up for tourist information? Mines gone awol.

I was thinking about those text message treasure hunts you can do. Always good if you want to see things that are not quite on the beaten track.

I don’t know about those... they sound intriguing. I have got a book of more unusual places to visit - if only I could be bothered to get off my arse and look for it. I wonder about Ceremony of the Keys at the Tower of London... I occasionally get the opportunity for tickets. I wonder how easy it is for Joe Public to go? I’m
Just talking to myself now aren’t I ?

You seem to enjoy music so there are several sites to visit for Hendrix, Grayeful Dead, etc but heavy in 60s genre so maybe too old for you. The Haight district is an area.

Have you ever tried Treasure Trails. Check their website, kind of Treasure Hunts, some for adults, some for children, on foot or by road.

Hello.... thanks for that. I have been to the Haight district many years ago... I liked it a lot. I did see the Grateful Dead play once when Jerry / Gerry (?) Garcia was still alive. I don’t remember much about the concert other than buying drugs in the parking lot before but I had a most entertaining night.

How about a ghost four tour...

you know, follow in the footsteps of Jack the Ripper? (Will involve walking)

I read about a mud larking tour...

Sorry, Ruthie, had to correct the typos ... what else are you going to do hiding in bushes, walking down dark alleys or lounging in mud.

He could take the boat from Westminster to Hampton Court. It;'s quite a long trip though so may want to jump on the train to go back to town. If he's staying in town of course...
