Which concert was it?
How did you make it backstage?
Was it cool?
Did they have any quirky things that you noticed?

Metallica

Record company A&R buddy got the passes

It was okay, good food

Quirks? Lots of spandex babes on their knees blowing roadies near the hostility suite, otherwise pretty civilized...lots of vodka and pot.

Out in the open for every Tom, Dick and Hairy to see?

I was backstage for a whole concert once. Actually it was more like a pagent. A xmas pagent to be exact, back in Grade 6. I was helping people with their costumes. Didn't get to see any of the ladies naked though.

Well, yeah, insofar as there are only a hundred or so people back there...my then-wife was with me, it horned her up quite nicely....sadly though, we then met Dee Snyder of Twisted Sister, who opened...he set back her horniness by about 3 months.

I work backstage for the concerts at my school. I have been back stage at No Doubt, Counting Crows, and Bob Dylan shows to name a few.

It is cool, but not that great to be honest. You hardly see the artists, just their asshole managers who are bossy as all hell.

yep, i ate alot and tried to chase trendy girls around to no avail-

then i puffed ganja and went out front and danced-

it was Marley and the wailers

way back

Blech...BUT you do get to hear the concerts...that has to be good.

Hubby, being hubby, goes backstage at almost every concert he attends. I'm thinking you won't be too impressed with him having met Sir Michael Tippet, Aaron Copeland, Janos Starker, Leon Fleisher or John Williams (the guitarist, not the star wars guy) though. ;)

He said to say that the guys would be jealous of him meeting the LaBeque sisters. Here's a pic:

That doesn't sound like fun.

I was backstage for a National Ballet performance with Karen Kain once...rrrrrrreow....and for a bunch of figure skating gigs...do they count?

Talk about tight butts....hoo-ha!

Karen Kain is awesome...but the rest of the anorexia crew wouldn't do too much for me.

Front row, left side , in front of the stacks for the concert...I couldn't hear anything for about 3 days afterwards...it was like F-18's in your head...I had no idea which tunes were being played, but that big stuffed toy was funny.

Once, Hot Tuna (Jefferson Airplane spinoff, does anyone remember them?), at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, about 1979.

They had Heiniken, that made the biggest impression on me. Some good looking girls, but not at all interested in me, of course.

Oops...just remembered...it was Iron Maiden, not Metallica.

Whatever...

Heh...you should go ask the over 35 thread if anyone remembers them. :)

Hey, I was only five at the time; I don't know what you're talking about.

(So, I lied.)

Scorpions (I know, I know) was o.k.

Tom Petty was a lot of fun.

Eric Clapton in Chicago was amazing.

But the best was backstage with Buddy Guy and B.B. King. Jammed for hours, the atmosphere was crazy, and everyone acted like they'd known each other for years, not just hours.
