how few and far apart the posts have been since the majority of them have been of the semi to real serious type.

Having read all of the banter about silly threads this morning (of which I contributed posts) I took a closer notice of the board post times this afternoon. It appears there was much more reparte and faster posting during silly thread times.

What does this mean, if anything?

Perhaps.....more people like to play? I come here for fun, not to tax my brain with too much actual thought ;)

Love 'em or hate 'em...it means that more people respond to the silly threads. People spend the day bitchin' about them, but then once they die off so does Lit. :) Hmmm... Coincident? :D

more people will post to silly and fun posts, because that is what we all come here to do. To relax and have fun with our friends on the board. Not to fight and argue all the time we all love the board but sometimes the more serious the more we don't want to start anything that would insult another. So yes you will see more posts on the silly threads because. "WE JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN!"

Thank you, as I am one of the guilty parties to keeping some of the silly threads going.

It sure is tempting to post as a guest, but I won't do it.

I'm sure this is going to get your dander up, but here goes, anyway.

Tony's observation could mean that people who like semi-serious to serious threads think about their answers and post when they think they have something interesting to say, and not whenever a brain cell sparks. In a wide generalization, it could also be said that many of the people who post the most to the silly threads are the same people who reached guruhood in a matter of days.

Of course, there are exceptions, but this is what I've gleaned from my observations.

Rapidity of the posts certainly doesn't indicate that the board is more interesting during those periods. Three people alone could keep the board hopping every five seconds.

Literotica won't die if the number of pointless threads diminish. (And there's a difference between silly/fun and stupid/pointless threads, in my opinion.) If people are sitting around here waiting for the board to stimulate them every five minutes with something new, then they should seek some other way to fill their time.

Don't get me wrong. I spend too much time here too. I scan the boards when I'm avoiding writing or house cleaning, or whatever. But I don't use my boredom as an excuse for clogging the BB.

i think its the fact taht when a good semi serious thread pops up people are in utter shock these days and don't recognize it after 60 silly threads.

I now understand why everyone was always so mad at me

Amen. I think when I first joined the board there were maybe 10 new threads a day, max. I could read everything in an hour for the whole day. Now that is almost impossible because of all the junk threads. Maybe the board doesn't have to be hopping 24 /7? Lulls are okay. Really.

Re: Has Anyone Noticed.

You are preaching to the choir, man. I can't wait to hear some of the replys to the other posts. I mean, if it takes 18 hours to think of a response, it's gonna be good! I hope, anyway.
