Has anyone here ever had their car stolen?

My uncle is the only person I know of personally who had his car stolen. It was found ditched in a river weeks later stripped of all of it's parts.

Stolen, flipped over and set on fire.

No big loss though, it was just about ready for scrapping.

Yes. Three times.

I usually drive what in the US would be called 'clunkers' so each one had poor security and little value.

The Police got all three back for me, minus the stereo system. Why the thieves took the stereo systems I don't know. They were as old as the cars and had no value.

Yep. Through a security video system I identified the thief, tracked him down and retrieved the car. The perp was not found at that time, but was arrested at a latter date in the court house when he showed up for court on a different matter.

He's still in jail on the first matter and then will serve another sentence for grand theft auto after the current one. I think he's going to be in the hoosegow for the next ten years.

Ive had my car broken into, but not stolen. My buddy had a truck stolen. Cops found it a few days later smouldering in Detroit, stripped of everything of value

Yeah. I went out to drive to work in the morning like... hmm I guess I parked around the corner. Nope? Okay the other corner. Nope?

FUCK!

The police found my car in a traffic stop a couple days later. The thief was driving it down a busy street downtown and a cop got curious and ran the plates, seeing it was reported stolen.

The cops said they searched it for anything illegal or dangerous but when I got in there was weed in the ash tray and crack in the glove compartment. The cops took it and didn't file drug charges (WTF did they do with the drugs???)

Another time I had my window smashed in and my change holder emptied.
