Has an ability to share drafts of a story with others ever been discussed?

It’s a pain speeding stuff over multiple PMs or creating a document just to email.

Might be nice to have a “share version with X” button.

Thoughts?

I use google docs, makes it super easy to share with others as either just a reader, or an editor.
I write in Word, but add the HTML myself,
So I don’t want to share a doc strewn with markup. What I want is to be able to share the preview page.

by persisting a copy of the Preview page HTML to a private folder accessible by the person / people it was sent to.
LOL. I have absolutely no idea what the boldface text means. I understand the concept of folders and sharing.

By magic.

Or - most simply - by persisting a copy of the Preview page HTML to a private folder accessible by the person / people it was sent to.

I get what you are saying. Make the draft upload shareable before you submit for publication.

I imagine a Whitelist where you can share a link with a 'let this person edit yes/no' option might be fairly easy to implement.

What do you mean, 'creating a document'? Are you really writing 10k or more words in the Lit website submissions page without any backup anywhere?

I can't see how sharing a link would be easier than sharing a document?

I think it would, at least in the sense of keeping everything under the same system. No need to make sure you've removed all the non anonymous metadata from your Word file, no need to constantly check an anonymous email in case someone has sent something, no need to upload anything to the fucking cloud.

Em, I was worried about you. It had been almost a week since you started a new thread. All’s right with the world again. 😉

I explain above. My Word document is covered in HTML and not so readable. I’m anal and don’t want to rely on something else for HTML formatting. I’m odd, so sue me. I can write in LaTeX as well (so many jokes saying that here I know).

So I check my mark-up in the preview pane. What I want is to share that. At present I copy from it and paste into PMs (piecemeal if necessary) or into emails.

Let’s try - maybe there is an implementation in the back of beyond of the Lit code base.

$\dfrac{1}t{2}\displaystyle\int_0^{\frac{\pi}{2}} \cos 2t +1\hspace{2mm}dt=\tag*{}$

Or

[math]\dfrac{1}t{2}\displaystyle\int_0^{\frac{\pi}{2}} \cos 2t +1\hspace{2mm}dt=\tag*{}[/math]

That did not work well.

One more go:

$LATEX\dfrac{1}t{2}\displaystyle\int_0^{\frac{\pi}{2}} \cos 2t +1\hspace{2mm}dt=\tag*{}$

My thought is why burden the Web site with supporting something you can easily do through other programs?

Couldn't you make it a simple html document and put it on Google sites? Then it displays correctly and you just have to share the link.
