I don't know it anything has happened to Harry Potter stories here, but I do know a couple of other sites I'm familiar with have taken stories down that concern him after being contacted by rep's of JR Rowlings or her publishers.

Well...

I don't know *for sure* but there's been quite a discussion in "story feedback" about underaged characters in fanfic. Laurel took some stories out of the section do to underaged characters that'd been upped in age, so maybe she took every "iffy" story down just to stay safe. It sucks, but it's more fair that way than leaving a few of them up.

Never fear, my friends. Keep writing your fiction and there will still be an audience - maybe you'll have to find another site for it, though = (

While I'm not a fan of fanfic or celebrities stories, it does suck to have anything taken down, and it does suck that you didn't get any notification. imho.

I mean, if the people in the book/movie/TV series/whatever is 17, and I write a story that takes place 5 years later, when the people are in their 20'ies, what's so wrong with that?

That site has Harry Potter stories there too. From R rated to NC17 stories.

I have my story posted there, Fateful Encounter is the title of my HP story. If you consider the time that Harry Potter got his letter to Hogwarts, it was 1991, that makes him almost a 23 year old adult right now.

If anyone wants to complain about the kids ages, tell them go back in time to 91 as that's the time that they are in!

I totally agree with you there, Couture, the site that I posted in my last message is one of the rare sites out there that allows NC17 fanfiction stories.

Some internet sites do not even allow it and it sucks when you are seeking out a site to host your NC17 stories and find none.

I had to strip three-quarters of my work from one famous fan fiction site when they outlawed NC-17. Bleah. That's one big reason I came here in the first place. Which was not a bad result, especially considering that the usual environment in fan fiction is highly non-critical and "accepting", i.e., not interested in writing issues or real critique.

What's REALLY the point in making a site NC-17? I mean, last time I went to one, their security system was the question " Are you REALLY 18???", and two buttons for "Damned, no, I'm not, OK, I'll leave" and "Yes, yes, yes, now let me enter, will ya" respectively.

Now, what are the odds that a horny 16-year old is going to hit the No-button?

One could argue that it should be the responsability of the parents to put up like Nanny Watch Family Filter or something similar, but in this day in age, I suspect that the kids would know more than the parents on how to hack into porn sites...

I know of two brilliant sites for HP NC-17... The only problem is most hardcore HP fanfic fans who read NC-17 read SLASH.

EDIT: The othe rproblem I have is, Katrinne is 20. She's an original character. And she's shagging Snape.

I thought your Seducing Severus saga was pretty good and am sad to see it disappear. Last time I checked, only Ch1 was gone though, but Ch2 and Ch3 were still there. Are they all gone?
