Blessed be to the pagans, Wiccans and all others celebrating the sabbat of the start of spring.

Sorry for the fluff thread, I'm just vibrating so much at the moment that I had to share.

Cool.

Does this mean I have an excuse to dance naked around a campfire tonight?

Perhaps I'm thinking of a different holiday?

You need an excuse?

And blessed be Sam, especially to yourself.

No, but at least this way when the neighbors call the Police I'll have a good excuse. :D

And :rose: for your Holiday.

Instead of a candle I'll raise my vibrator in your honor tonight. :)

Well, Imbolc is about the arrival of warmth to the earth and the start of Spring. I'm sure you can find better ways to create warmth than a flame.

Vibrating seems as good a topic as a story? :catroar:

Merry Imbolc. :rose:

This is part of how I celebrate, so I thought I'd share.

Sometimes I really wish I was a Kitchenwitch. It doesn't seem to suit me to do the whole Wiccan cooking thing though.

Currently taking advantage of flamey-Sabbat and my fire-based personality to surround myself with dozens of candles. :D

Most of my magic/spells/celebration is done through cooking or candles. Occasionally I make charms. I definitely have a firey personality too. :)

Oh, I'm so very definitely a Crystalwitch! I have about 60-70 different types of crystals and can tell you all about every one. Generally speaking, if I'm doing a spell, I'd use candles and crystals except in extraordinary circumstances.

Crystals carry amazing energy and I use them for charms on occasion. I also make soaps that have herbs and crystals in them. :)

Just make sure you don't put selenite in the soap!

Yes please.

The Earl and Others: Merry meet and blessed be. :rose:

I found a crystal on the shores of Loch Rannoch in Scotland. I've kept it with me ever since that trip. I think I was meant to find it. I'm convinced it's got its own unique magic, and even if it doesn't, it means something special to me. :) The research that I've done on my familial "roots" are traceable to that area of Scotland. On reading clan history, etc., I found that that crystal is our clan's official stone (most probably because it's prevalent in that area. ;) )

What type of crystal is it, do you know?

For the non-metric, non-Americans, one cup (in cooking), = 8 ounces.
For the metric, that's approximately 175 grams,maybe slightly less. (1 ounce = 28 grms)

Just being helpful.

Because I wasn't familiar with this day, I looked it up:

Celtic spirituality

February 1: IMBOLC

This season belongs to Brigid, the Celtic goddess who in later times became revered as a Christian saint. Originally, her festival on February 1 was known as Imbolc or Oimelc, two names which refer to the lactation of the ewes, the flow of milk that heralds the return of the life-giving forces of spring. Later, the Catholic Church replaced this festival with Candlemas Day on February 2, which is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and features candlelight processions. The powerful figure of Brigid the Light-Bringer overlights both pagan and Christian celebrations.

In most parts of the British Isles, February is a harsh and bitter month. In old Scotland, the month fell in the middle of the period known as Faoilleach, the Wolf-month; it was also known as a’ marbh mhiòs, the Dead-month. But although this season was so cold and drear, small but sturdy signs of new life began to appear: Lambs were born and soft rain brought new grass. Ravens begin to build their nests and larks were said to sing with a clearer voice.

In Ireland, the land was prepared to receive the new seed with spade and plough; calves were born, and fishermen looked eagerly for the end of winter storms and rough seas to launch their boats again. In Scotland, the Old Woman of winter, the Cailleach, is reborn as Bride, Young Maiden of Spring, fragile yet growing stronger each day as the sun rekindles its fire, turning scarcity into abundance. Of her, Alexander Carmichael wrote:

Bride with her white wand is said to breathe life into the mouth of the dead Winter and to bring him to open his eyes to the tears and the smiles, the sighs and the laughter of Spring. The venom of the cold is said to tremble for its safety on Bride’s Day, and to flee for its life on Patrick’s Day.

Blessings to you all.

So why is it so bloody cold!

Try as they might the Christians still navent managed to obliterate the worlds primitive religions based on worshipping gods representing the things that brought you life such as air water the seasons and so forth.

These "false" gods replaces by newer gods who no one can prove exist and made the churches the most powerful richest Idolic businesses in the world!

 sorry about my illiterate rantings, I'm off to walk the dog happier knowing that life is returning to that dark cold earth I'm about to tread.

 for Mat
