I want to thank my dad for all that he has done for me.
1) When you made me pick out the switch you were going to whip me with, you taught me to be selective.
2) When you let me have a sip out of your cheap beer, you taught me beggars can't be choosers.
3) When you handed me a condom and said don't tell your mom, you taught me to be responsible.

And now I pass these lessons on to my children.

I am off to a week at violin camp with my daughter today, which is a great way to spend fathers' day. Even my ex-wife got me a nice gift!

stepdads, and esp. to the moms who also are in the "dad
role"...........

I think this Father's Day is a combination of happy and
sad this year.....because on 9/11, many, many children
lost their fathers in the tragedy, so please take the time
to remember them in your thoughts. But it
also a time to be happy, to be blessed to have fathers
who are strong, who stick by their family thru good and
bad, and who set good examples for not only their family,
but also for others.

My father died 4 yrs. ago. I still miss him terribly. I always will.
I wrote this for him:

It's a good day, but I'm a firm believer in parenting without much regard for gender of the parent. Still, I spent the whole day in dad mode, clearly, except for calling my own (necessarily can't be in dad mode when wishing him Happy Father's Day, ya know?) and enjoyed it thoroughly. I didn't have to fix my own breakfast, and I got to burn meat over an open fire for dinner... how much better does it get?

acknowledgement from everyone. I feel personally blessed. Well sort of. I have an amazing wife, son, daughter and daughter-in-law! As for the other side of the family, I have a part time daughter. She only calls or comes by when she needs something. Otherwise there is no contact. As you may tell I'm dissappointed in the first born! I have made all attempts to communicate with her to no avail. As for the other kids, I walk on water! Go figure!!!

Well I'm ranting, HAPPY FATHERS DAY to all Fathers reguardless of their situation!
