Happy Beltane!

It's certainly Summer here. The last weekend in April is always scorching hot, letting everyone know that Summer has officially begun (yeah, I know it's only getting to spring where others are, but not here. Here Summer starts in mid-April).

I've got the summer shorts and sleeveless tees out and the sandals.

But the calendar says it's Beltane! That wondrous day that signals the height of spring, when the rains are over and the world is green and the flowers are coming into bloom! Beltane rituals include the maypole of course, complete with maidens to weave ribbons about it:

Any gents like to offer up their maypole for this?

A glass or two of good mead:

And a Beltane fire.

Oh. And sex. Lotsa sex.

As for me, I'm celebrating this day in very, very special way...I'm gonna go see IRONMAN! Whoo-hoo! Happy Beltane/Mayday/Iron Day Everyone!

That's the good thing about paganism - move the festival to suit the season, not to suit the date. It's why Xmas makes no sense in Oz - Yule, however, falls on June 22nd over there. Pagan festivals make more sense to the nature of the world... imho :)

I agree.

My main focus is to realize when my linear mindset doesn't have anything to do with the cyclic nature of living.

I love paganism as there's no lack of metaphors and history in which to immerse myself. If I pay attention and listen carefully, it's an osmosis effort.

So, you stopping to pick me up for all of this? ;)

So who wants to have a little Beltane bash?

I'll light the fire and make the bannock. Who'll bring the mead?

Also, looks like it's gonna be a girlie bash, so who's gonna come for a tumble in the woods with me? :D

my daily jog goes through some nice park woodland. I heard a female giggling and laughing but couldn't find her.

There were some other joggers that would have made great copulation company. ;)
