I finished one! I have never, ever, ever finished a contest story for Lit before today. Had an idea a weejk agao and submitted it just this moment. Be gentle when it comes out.

My reading list keeps getting longer.....how is anyone keeping up with all the entries? I'd been put on bed rest last week and haven't been able to get to the computer. I'm so behind!

you always put ALL of your writing on display when you enter a contest because if someone thought anything of your writing they want to read more of it...

I can see how that might happen but, in my case at least, my Halloween story has almost nothing in common with other stories I have written. That's why I put the disclaimer at the start of it.

I have read... all of the stories on the halloween page....
I voted on all of them

I don't think I put comments on all of them because well being gone for a week doesnt help in the least....

today is the last day of the contest.... this is the first time that I have seen them still excepting stories on the last day of the contest... I have seen them in the past not take any the last couple of days of the contests

there are some amazing stories....

I just.... hope and smile now

There are are some that so much more then mine ever could have been.... guess I have the next contest to look forward to.

Also feels like I haven't slept or eaten (unless red wine counts) in days, reading story after wonderful story... I'm anticipating some pretty major Halloween withdrawal, when this contest is over...

I deliberately set out to out-do Ogg for this competition! I chose the 2 categories I couldn't write for as they don't appeal [horror and lesbian] and gave it a horrible & unexplainable ending, and skinted on the editing. Watch out Ogg

I could reel of a number of reasons, but the one I think [yeah, I don't know either ] is that she realised Ashlyn could never love anyone and/or Ashlyn was happy to use Rhiona's love for her to control her as she did her husband.

Bullshit. It's simply a matter of finding what you are good at. That category is really hard - both from a readers and writers persepctive. I think the core thing is credibility - no matter how fantastic or out of this world - you have to convince the reader that it could happen. I think you may have lost that when she jumped all her class mates she hadn't seen in a number of years. But you have an easy, enjoyable style to read
