Halloween is next month. I wore the same costume two years running, so it's time to change things up this year. Found this kick ass Army of Darkness dress (I admit, the shoes attracted my attention):

If I can find a shirtdress, I may make a copy.

Have you picked out your costume yet? Any favorites from years past? Any disasters you want to share with the class?

It's too early for me to think about Halloween. I'm still going to the beach. ;)

Actually, I'm hoping for a costume party to go to this year.

I attended a Halloween party last year as a Dia de los Muertos figurine. I met many people for the first time that night, who subsequently did not recognize me when we met again; even last month I saw someone from that party and had to explain who I was. I'll have to use a picture from last year as an av next month.

Now that's a cool costume. Looking forward to that AV.

I wish my flapper costume still fit. It was very Chicago.

Actually I'm thinkin about making an ash costume this year. I got the kaki pants and the shotgun. Gotta hit up salvation army for a blue shirt. Dont wamna tear a sleve off a new one. Only problem is I'd have to shave. Dunno if I can do that

That dress is adorable! Plus, you could hang onto it and wear it again for spring weddings.

I haven't decided what I'm dressing up as this year, but I've always wanted to do one of those topical, in-the-news costumes (like the Chilean miner trends three years ago). Maybe I will dress up as one of the jellyfish that tried to sting Diana Nyad, or maybe a sexy Cesium-137 molecule from Fukushima.

I can think of at least twelve times a year when that would be appropriate day wear.

Topical is cool and a jellyfish costume could be beautiful.

Speaking of topical costumes, the shore town I frequent in the summer has an annual bar crawl that has turned into a kind of Halloween-in-July. This year, if I saw one more "Blurred Lines" theme, I was going to puke up my cocktails.

I'm going to be a sexy Twinkie. The original version, not the remake.

T...maybe a sexy Cesium-137 molecule from Fukushima.
"Is it hot in here, or is it just you?"

Were the women walking around topless with foam fingers?

Also, what sort of cocktail? That's important.

I've seen Sexy Snickers and Sexy Candy Corn, but not Sexy Twinkie. You're embarking on new sexy sweets territory. Well done.

Also, what's the difference between the original and the remake? I'm not very familiar with the puffed yellow treat.

i'm gonna dress up as a hopeless, wallflowery and sexually ambiguous spaniard male in his early thirties.

I was a Jedi a few years ago for a Halloween party. Haven't dressed up since.

I love the shoes in that picture.

I'm honestly not sure what the difference is between the two! I was just joshing. I'm actually going as Queen of Hearts to match my daughter's Alice and son's Cheshire Cat costumes. :D

Very nice costume. Groovy, in fact. The last time I dressed up I think I was an ice vampire.

Before that I just took a short cut, flipped my hair over and held my hands in front of my face and said I was the chick that came out of the TV in "The Ring"

You can add the "hopeless" to your normal shy, sexually omnivorous Spaniard self with a worn and battered Obama t-shirt, one of those iconic blue-and-red ones with the "Si Se Puede!" banner.

(Because I know you're not otherwise describing yourself as hopeless in some sort of self-deprecating joke. Noses get booped for far less around here, mister.)

I love the shoes in that picture.
How did I know you'd say that? :D

No S-Mart Name tag? I'm disappointed....shop smart....shop S-Mart.

I shared I think with thør a few months back about a fave costume I wore a couple times. I went as a mermaid. My date was half man/half woman. It was so freaking tight all the way to my ankles that I couldn't sit and I tired of standing, so I was picked up and set on my side down the length of a bar.

I also have been Pippi Longstocking. She was much more comfy.

Do you people really still go to Halloween parties?

No one even passes out candy around here anymore.

I didn't go, but my daughter would throw them at our house, I'd dress up and make food.
