Perhaps you could combine it with the Sex Carnival idea.

Have a Gypsy curse put on a village, which turns everyone into sex manics. Then while everyones at it have the gypsies, steal all the valubles.

You could even make it a period story set in Europe. Perhaps in the style of a old Hammer film.
