Yes, it does exist and very well from my understanding. BDSM did come into the "mainstream" so to speak through the gay leather community.

I know of a guy/guy relationship personally through my MaST group here in Georgia, and I know they are planning on making a chapter that is solely for gay males that are in the BDSM lifestyle, so that they can have a place to discuss their unique relationship issues.

I'm not disagreeing, but I'll just add that here at least, "leather" isn't used to describe guy on guy exclusively. While it started that way, many use it as a synonym for BDSM. We have a Men of Leather group that's open to ALL men (gay, straight, bi or otherwise), a Women of Leather group for ALL women, there are gay/lesbian/bi leather groups and the entire BDSM community is often referred to as the "leather community," particularly by those who have been in the lifestyle for a decade or more.

Now this has me thinking...

I don't (try my hardest not to) lable things when it comes to my own kink. If someone wants to know what I like, sure I'll give lables so you know what I'm referring to. What turns me on is my own thing. Having said that, this string has me wondering. There are so many different styles and flavors within other styles that allow for external classification due to their divergence from the parent flavor but, bcasue of it's core beginnings, is lumped into the same category (if somewhat loosly) with the parent kink.
I refer to Leather here as the parent flavor and heterosexual D/s as the loosly associated but slightly different offshoot.

Can't speak for modern M/m relationships, but what you speak of is a long-standing tradition historically speaking. Many, many cultures, and subcultures, had M/m relationships built in as part of socialisation thoughout history, and quite a number of indigenous peoples still practice such behaviour.
