Anyone have one?..........You like it or wish you would have bought a better one?

We went out today and bought one for our work truck and I love it.............I think I am going to have to buy one for myself........
We got one of those hand held models, It was tracking our speed, direction, road we were on......how far we were from where we were going.......

I thought the price was real reasonable we looked around and found a E- map for 166.00 bucks about 5 places were out of them.

I can wait till a few more years they will have a remote unit like the truck drivers have so we can see where are kids are with our cars and trucks......:)

What a great little toy..............It is awsome..........

I thought so too........scarey huh...............

Mr La Fay has one for sailing...only he can't operate it...I refuse to show him how...I love that toy:D

I use submeter and subcentimeter ones for doing topographical surveys on property. Little different from yours but they are great.

Unreal what these little thing can do..................I mean it will do everything but break out a set of lips..............And some of the better ones just might........

In another life, I helped test-drive cars for the Detroit manufacturers. When they started introducing the built-in GPS I was in hog heaven. My favorite was one by Chrysler, I think -- it was NOT on-star and it wasn't in Cadillac, but you typed in the address you wanted to get to. It knew where you were and would calculate the mileage to the next turn. A little voice would say "approaching next turn -- turn right" -- stuff like that. If you didn't mind it, it would "beep beep beep" and tell you you just screwed up (but in a nice way). You could also turn off the voice and just have a display, but it wasn't as much fun that way. It could tell you the fastest way somewhere, the shortcuts and also how to get somewhere without taking a freeway. The system cost about $2,000 when first introduced (probably about 7 or 8 years ago) and I thought it was worth it then. I'm going to have one in whatever car I buy next -- it's great toy and a great tool for those of us directionally challenged folk.

What's scary is the fact that GPS is in cell phones.

Ever wonder why you never have to set the date and time?

I just saw one of those cell phones on ebay for 999.00....................
