Just saw some completely moronic Facebook avatar:

"Real "equality" [my quotes added] would be government not involved with marriage" (or something like that)

Huh? Then who or what would provide marriage contracts or run the courts to enforce the contract?

Would said person say the same thing about business contracts? Or any other type of contract? Or is he/she saying that there shouldn't be marriage contracts?

I'm really at a loss to understand some of these radicals, but maybe they really don't understand what they are saying themselves? Half the time, it just doesn't make any sense.

Its like the legalize recreational drugs crowd, they aren't clear whether prescriptions should be required for any drugs. Should penicilin be available over the counter? They aren't clear.

The government is involved in a million and one things we rarely even think about. Why do we always start with things that drag society down the moral cesspool first when we talk about shrinking government?

You can have courts enforce contracts without the government being the one granting said contract. Business contracts happen all the time without a government registry. I just met with a construction guy to have our basement refinished and signed a contract without any government involvement.

No, pencillin shouldn't be available over the counter. Not that anybody ever gives that any thought.

Also most Americans want to be down in this "cess pool" you speak of. We don't see the harm and have a hard time justifying living by the code of long dead fiction writers.

You're worried about moral cesspools of homosexuality on a site that promotes gay sex. I think you're in the wrong place.

1. that's not what the inane slogan is saying

and, 2. so you support a man and woman signing their own marriage contract which for example has fault clauses, for example? I tend to doubt that quite strongly.

and, 3. what on earth does that have to do with "equality"??????????????????????????????????????

1. I don't care what your Facebook friend said.

2. Marriage is involved in too many legal matters so practically speaking it needs to be a yes/no thing.

3. Equality is happening in those states where there is marriage equality.

You really need to stop worrying about other people's affairs so much. Get your big gubmint paws off our freedom.

You're a liar...

Marriage is a Sacrement. The only Sacrement that God allows me to administer for myself, and with loved one, without the intervention of a priest.

Keep that Damn government out!
