I had one editor help me out with my story, but I reciently found out it was rejected due to Paragraph's broken up inappropreately and also recieved this request : Please break up & fix the punctuation of your dialogue. Can someone please help me with this? I was sure I had it right and maybe I messed up somewhere.

Don't feel alone yummy, I've gotten the puncuation of your dialogue a few times. I went back and looked at the tips that were given and finally got it right for the most part.(Notice I said 'for the most part') Took me a few times to figure out where I was going wrong. I also asked a friend to look at it and pointed out where I was screwing up at. Now its just a few other puncuations that I mess up on. Slowly I'm getting it all down pat, as will you. I'm sure when an editor has free time somebody will come and help you. Hang in there. :) Just wanted you to know you are not alone by a long shot! :)

I wanted to send a note to let everyone know that someone volunteered to help me edit my work. I want to thank them and everyone who has sent me pm's or responses offering to help with my editing. I will keep you all in consideration with my next story which I'm currently working on.

Yummy,

Go to the Writers Resource section. There is an article in there by Whispersecret titled "How to make your charicters talk". It's really good. I keep a copy of it here on the desk all the time.

Hang in there YM, you'll get it. The editors here are all pretty nice and very helpful :)

I had the punctuation in dialogue thing for my first few submissions, it's just a case of keeping everything to do with the speech inside of the quotation marks. Like if somebody vocally ends a sentence in your story, then you should finish the speech like ." or ?" or !"
