President Bush has signed an executive order permitting military trials for any terrorists captured by or turned over to U.S. troops in the war on terrorism. This would include Osama Bin Laden. Good move, in spite of what the ACLU says.

The preferred way to Bin Laden to get his just reward would be for his own followers to turn on him and kill him. It’s rather hard to claim martyrdom when your own followers murder you. If his followers don’t take him out, then let’s hope our Special Forces guys take care of business.

But --- if we do screw up and capture him alive, a trial would be a debacle. Witnesses would be intimidated --- afraid for their very lives. Ditto for jurors.

The ACLU and so-called “civil libertarians” are calling for Bin Laden or any captured terrorist to be tried in our current civil trial system.

We’re at war. It’s not a civil action, it’s a military action. You don’t apply the rules of our criminal justice system to war. You don’t even apply the rules of our civil justice system to our own military, why should they apply to the enemy?

This order signed by Bush should send chills through the hearts of terrorists and wannabes. They now know that they can’t murder thousands of Americans and then seek refuge behind the constitutional and civil protections we offer our own citizens.

The ultimate military tribunal is the bullet. If the bullets miss then let a military court finish the job.

*Gives Todd a standing ovation*

Well said! I couldn't agree with you more!

I have an honest question Todd.

Why do you never comment on Canadian policies?

once again TODD, fuck off, stop spouting about U.S. Politics, and as MM said, talk about Canadian Politics. You're a real putz!

It's funny how RARELY if ever do you have anything else to say about a subject, once you've been called on it, and the REAL or FULL truth comes to everyone's attention.

while i agree that anyone captured during this war should be tried as war criminals, i also have to agree with the other posters.

i KNOW america is a way cool place to live, and i know that you must be bored silly up there in the great white north, without even sex to keep you entertained, but shut up about the US and it's politics.... especially if all you're going to do is post an article and look for the nearest escape. when you want to post YOUR thoughts, YOUR opinions, and have a debate/argument/conversation about them, let me know.

I do and have, its just so rare that something ever happens that is good up here, I do like to post good news from time to time.

Quick synopsis of my views on Canadian Politics.

Liberal Party Prime Minister Johnny Crapping: Someone needs to go out and shoot this bastard before he makes canada suck any worse than he already has.

Progressive Conservative Leader Joe Clark: Some one needs to put him back in whatever crypt they pulled him out of. When He was younger and Prime Minister He was ahead of his time, Now he is ancient and living in the past.

Canadian Alliance Leader Stockwell Day: The only man who took Canada's best hope for the future the former Reform Party now the Canadian alliance and take 10 years effort and destroy it in less than 6 months.

New Democrat Party: Canada's own Communist party. No really they are they use the term Democrat but in reality they make real Democrats look like right wingers.

Canadian Political Concerns:

  • Under Paid Nurses
  • Under Paid Doctors
  • Under Staffed Hospitials
  • Under Paid Teachers
  • Under educated teachers { no formal training neccessary}
  • Lowest Minimum wage standards in the world
