"Go woke, go broke" 100% debunked as woke "Barbie" becomes biggest Warner Bros. movie EVER

It’s not a woke movie.

Your fellow Deplorables have been screaming about it being woke for weeks. We can link dozens of articles and commentary to prove it.

Now that it's made ridiculous amounts of $$$, you're trying to flip the narrative.

You're not nearly smart enough to pull that off. Let another Lit regular try.

Toodles! 👋😃

I am really enjoying the fact that strong women are doing the best job of kicking Deplorable butt: Like E. Jean Carroll and her attorney, Fani Willis, and the director/producer of the Barbie movie.

That last one was really a coup in the entertainment industry. A very effective gut-punch to the 20th century white patriarchy that Deplorables long to revive.

“Is nothing sacred? There aren’t a lot of movies that appeal to little girls and now this is off the list,” she continued. “I don’t know what they were thinking? They just gave Barbie the Bud Light treatment,” she said, predicting that the studio would pay for its decision.

Far-right media figure Jack Posobiec struck a similar tone, calling Barbie a “man-hating Woke propaganda fest,” criticizing the film for portraying the Kens as less intelligent than the Barbies and for its themes about rising up against the patriarchy.

BlazeTV host Lauren Chen accused studios of hiding how “INSUFFERABLY WOKE” Barbie is in promotional materials, also pointing to the film’s anti-patriarchal themes.

It is a comedy. Making fun of a certain stereotype. What is even more funny? Those that we know fall into that stereotype hate it. Which means the comedy was well done

Perhaps the Barbie movie makes Deplorables uncomfortable, a violation of their safe space, and thus desire to "cancel" it with the "Bud Light treatment".

It looks like Phrodeau found at least one Deplorable to console. We will continue to do God's work in helping the Deplorables to navigate their hurt feelings.

Tee hee hee!

Still not planning to see Barbie in theaters. It’s disturbing to me on multiple levels and I’m not a deplorable. Mostly I’m disappointed Drew Barrymore as Adult Skipper didn’t make it in.

2 Corinthians 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.
That’s the Cheetos favorite, two Corinthians. (The whole ball game!) This guy must be an “advisor.”

Glad to see the Barbie dream house is a stronghold.

I finally saw it last night. The whole time I was watching it I kept thinking "I can't believe this actually got made!"

I can see now why it drove the anti-woke crowd so crazy. It's very funny, very subversive, and really smart. It knows that Barbie is corporate IP, but it also knows that the doll is a big part of a lot of women's childhoods. Greta Gerwig is a genius. A lesser director would have made a two hour paean to Mattel or a simplistic story of female empowerment.

What's really impressive is how the movie treats men. The Kens are loveably hapless and surprisingly sympathetic in their ham-handed attempt to build a patriarchy from scratch. Even the male executives at Mattel are also not the big bads they seem to be at first. They want Barbie to be a feminist icon--they're just worried about her running around loose in the real world.

(They keep alluding to "the Skipper incident"!)

Too many hilarious jokes to list. The moment when Barbie gives up and falls over on her side with her legs sticking straight out was <chef's kiss>.

I didn't recognize any of my Barbies, but I did recognize a lot of the locations in LA. The idea that the real-world portal to Barbie-world is Venice Beach was sublime.

Not directly Barbie related...but the Women's National Soccer team just set a new attendance record. Guess who was being honored?
