Glossary - Dictionary, any help ?

I was wondering if there was a glossary or a dictionary (perhaps a book ?) that gave definitions of some of the myriad of terms used. I understand i'm picking some up but others escape me and rather than clog up a board asking what does this mean over and over I thought one thread where us 'new and shy' people could get information.
