Hey, I am curious about Glory Holes and what the Lit members have for experiences with them. Does anyone go regularly? And if so, are you on the giving or receiving end? I have heard of some people setting them up at their houses and inviting people over. It sounds interesting.

I am a guy and I have used them a few times and loved it (recieved) but I only sucked one cock using a glory hole and found it to be a real turn on. Here in the Portland area there are several adult shops with gloryholes, some of them nicely kept and well equipped, and therefore frequented by singles and couples.
I've found the concept to be fascinating for different reasons, on both personal and social levels, since the phenomenon can have different things to say, at different times, about us as individuals and as a society.
Obviously there is the attraction for someone wanting immediate, totally anonymous and absolutely uncomplicated gratification, whether to give or receive - or both. The GH is perfect for that, and may be the only way to truly achieve it.
Then there is the fascination and attraction - and often quite strong for more people than might care to admit it - of totally anonymous sex; just the bestial basics with someone you can only imagine (if you care to) on the other side of the wall. For most who have never tried it, it's a completely foreign concept, the giving and receiving of intimate pleasure(s) with a faceless stranger. And this, therefore, makes it all the more exciting.
Then there's the added pleasure from violating some rather deeply held societal taboos, no?
Why, you just don't do that sort of thing with a complete stranger....do you?
For some others, it provides a way to explore new areas of their sexuality without any of the potential risks posed by social interaction with a partner.
Having said all that, I'm finding what I believe to be a rather sad commentary on the society of fear we're creating for ourselves, when so many who want to experience a GH can't bring themselves to achieve all the experience has to offer, and instead accept just a sadly watered-down copy by going to various lengths to set the whole thing up in advance. Some insist on meeting their prospective partners in advance, before going into the booth.
In my view, safety and security in life are, despite any efforts you may make, illusions at best, and if you're going to spend your life confined by those illusions, then you're never going to know what life and living are truly about, since risk is such a vital ingredient in the recipe for real life; and that's, for me, the only life worth living.

I think it would be totally hot to work a glory hole for a few hours, to have someone that you know and trust making sure you only get guys that are clean. That part would be the only thing that would scare me from doing it is the thought that you could easily catch something nasty from a stranger. But if I knew it was safe, sign me up.
