Now I wonder, if I were to do that and send them a plaster of paris 'personal' mold could they make one that would be rather umm unique. I am not sure if I would want to do it, that almost sounds like the ultimate in self absorption, but it would be really cool I have to admit.

Well, you already stated that you did that with plaster of paris, so why not again, just think of the possiblites for the rights each time someone would by a replica of you, you would receive $$$.
Not to mention what a gift for your S/O!
